Re: Audible on the iPad and automatic playback after a phone call
Hi, I hope so because I truly miss that functionality which is why I took the time to spend an hour of my life on the phone with my particular rep before I could get him to understand that which I meant about them. I was so glad of heart when he finally got it I think he might have thought me mad (laughs). And I’m glad to hear that others have reported their unhappiness. Personally I don’t see why they couldn’t have left the rewind and fast-forward buttons as they were and simply made them like the delete buttons now are where their active status or lack thereof is user defined. Either way I’d take the scrubbers if only they worked. Why even have them there if they’re not functional. Here’s hoping their functionality in some form returns soon as I do miss it. And thanks for verifying it isn’t just me (big smile). And again thanks for your thorough write up at the app’s launch as well. Audible on the iPad and automatic playback after a phone call
Hello iPad users, Could anybody who has an iPad and who has used the new Audible app describe a bit how the app looks on an iPad? I am curious as to whether some of the stuff they took out of the iPhone app is still there on the iPad version of the app which would make sense due to the larger screen area available. Does Audible use a split screen layout as one would find in Settings or Mail or is it all one big screen? I also thought I mention that I discovered another awesome improvement of the Audible app. It's in a way a small thing, but one that is extremely practical and convenient. Every time I have received a phone call today my book started playing again automatically after the call ended. This was the case when I was playing via my Jambox as well as via my Sonos system using Airplay. I find this to be a very welcome improvement since with the old app playback would of course pause when the call came in, but I always had to manually resume playback again. When I am out and about using a Bluetooth headset (which doesn't have the ability to do stuff like Play/Pause) or when I am at home and maybe I'm cooking and use a Bluetooth speaker it is very nice that now I don't have to touch my phone after a call and it will just continue to play where it stopped when the call started.
