how to stop VO from announcing names of callers?
Hello Folks, The subject heading says it all. I need to know how to stop voice over from announcing the names of callers. I do not like it that when I am sitting with a group of people and I receive a call, everyone in the group knows who is calling me. Is there a way of doing that? I do not need to block my caller id, because when I call people, some of them do not like to receive calls from unknown numbers. If anyone knows a trick of how to prevent Voice Over from saying the names of callers, I would truly appreciate it. Re: how to stop VO from announcing names of callers?
There are actually a couple of ways you can set up your iPhone so incoming calls will not be announced. 1) Manually turn on “Do Not Disturb” keeping in mind that if you have permissions set for some callers to bypass this their calls will still be announced. 2) Go to and select the option best suited for your circumstances. Also, if you disable “Announce Calls” you may also want to go to and set that so you will at least know if you’ve received a call during these meetings (or any other time you you have “Announce Calls” disabled). - Bill from Ino, Wisconsin - “When you are arguing with a fool, make sure he isn't doing the same.” - Contributor Unknown -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list. Re: how to stop VO from announcing names of callers?
Sorry, but this feature is not related to VoiceOver users. And by the way, i don't recommended to acctive this because that we are getting double announcement ones from VoiceOver, and ones from the feature that called announce calls. I recommend to turn it of and not to use this for blind people, it could be very mistake. Re: how to stop VO from announcing names of callers?
Hi, As Sieghard suggested, turn on the mute switch, and, for good measure you could also turn speech off if you’re not going to do anything with the phone while you’re in a meeting or whatever. I do that all the time when I’m in meetings and not using my phone. > On Apr 16, 2018, at 8:32 PM, Sieghard Weitzel wrote: > > Just turn the Mute button on, of course the phone will only vibrate, but > Voiceover will not announce callers. > > From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Cris > Ali > Sent: Monday, April 16, 2018 10:21 AM > To: viphone@googlegroups.com > Subject: how to stop VO from announcing names of callers? > > Hello Folks, > The subject heading says it all.
