Re: iPhones and VMNO providers

Yes, everyone will transfer your number. It will be necessary to
obtain your account number and the four digit password assigned to
your account. Everyone will give it up, although you may have to call
and then wait on hold for 20 minutes. Check with Aira about
prioritization, but I believe it is a function of the Aira app and it
has nothing to do with your choice of carrier. Aira has been developed
to function optimally regardless of the carrier used, which is why it
is such a great experience. Someone is not tied to a cell phone
provider that does not suit their needs. I am remembering this from my
conversations last fall with Michael Hingson and AT corporate
representatives at the opening of the new AT experience store in the
Chicago Loop.

It is super simple to switch services. Just get the SIM card of the

try and you could always switch back to your other service. After
switching from T-Mobile to a T-Mobile MVNO, I have never looked back.
Now I am with a Verizon MVNO and love the experience and price even
more. T-Mobile has a dead zone in downtown Chicago that Verizon does
not have for example and I said goodbye to dropped calls around a
certain L station that I experienced on the T-Mobile network. It is
not a marriage. You can drop your new MVNO at any time, even if it is
just hours or days, and go to someone else.

I agree. MVNOs can be a really good deal. My personal cell is with T-Mobile,
but my business iPhone is with Ting which runs off of both the Sprint and
T-Mobile networks and has a pay for what you use structure. I think I paid
something like $15 on my most recent Ting bill.
As with anything, shop around and look for the best deal which will best suit

I have used MVNO's that run on T-Mobile and Verizon. I paid a lot less for my
service than if I had obtained it from the carrier. On Xfinity mobile, my
download speeds are 60 MBPS. I would hardly call this a throttle. It is just as
fast as my home Internet connection. While throttling did happen in the past,
it is less common now. It is true some advanced features are not available. For
example, WIFI calling is not provided by Xfinity Mobile but is offered to
Verizon customers.
This is not an issue for me though because I can call any number in the US and
Canada on WIFI from Google Hangouts. Also, Verizon customers can choose their
ring tone length but Xfinity Mobile customers have a fixed length of 30
seconds. These are small matters.
My cell phone bill was $12 last month, a fraction of the cost of Verizon.

seconds. These are small matters.
My cell phone bill was $12 last month, a fraction of the cost of Verizon.

Re: iPhones and VMNO providers

2018-02-19 Thread Kelly Pierce
I have used MVNO's that run on T-Mobile and Verizon. I paid a lot less
for my service than if I had obtained it from the carrier. On Xfinity
mobile, my download speeds are 60 MBPS. I would hardly call this a
throttle. It is just as fast as my home Internet connection. While
throttling did happen in the past, it is less common now. It is true
some advanced features are not available. For example, WIFI calling is
not provided by Xfinity Mobile but is offered to Verizon customers.
This is not an issue for me though because I can call any number in
the US and Canada on WIFI from Google Hangouts. Also, Verizon
customers can choose their ring tone length but Xfinity Mobile
customers have a fixed length of 30 seconds. These are small matters.
My cell phone bill was $12 last month, a fraction of the cost of
Verizon.

It depends on the area where you live. However in most cases you get what you
pay for and it usually not that good

iPhones and VMNO providers

2018-02-19 Thread Sarai Bucciarelli
  Hi all:

Went to get an iPhone today, and it was a bust from AT *sigh* I'm
thinking about doing one of the MVNO providers that runs off the AT
network.

Anyone tried them? Rumors are they can throdle the network speeds and not
all iphone features work.
