when Clicking on the iTunes Desktop icon.  I think the correct key is the
Shift key.

Ok, I transferred my old data to a new Windows 7 computer. I then installed
iTunes today. But, I don't see my library, although it is under Music under
the folder with my user name.

Is there any way to transfer it to my new version of iTunes, or do I just
have to resort to backing up and synching my iPhone now?

Open I tunes and tell it where to look for the library.  I think you'll find 
what you need under the file menu under library..
I don't use windows anymore, though, so hope this will work for you.
