whilst I was trying a couple of things, the battery went on that iPhone, and 
when it came back on after being connected to the charger, the problem of it 
not connecting to the iTunes store seems to have sorted itself out.

  I don't think that is the problem, as other apps that need internet access 
can seem to get it no problem, it is only when it needs to connect to the 
iTunes store that it just won't have it.

    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap on Reset Network Settings. After 
you confirm and the phone reboots you will have to reconnect to your WiFi and 
while I can’t guaranty that it will fix the problem, there is a good chance it 
might.

    am having a very annoying problem with one of my iPhones, that I just can't 
seem to get rid of. 

    this particular iPhone, for some reason, will not connect to the iTunes 
store. 

    it comes up with the right apple id, and I enter the right password, but it 
just keeps saying a very unhelpful, "cannot connect to iTunes store" 

    does anyone have any idea why this phone is doing this, and how I can sort 
it out? 

    my other iPhone will still connect fine, using the same apple ID and 
password, but this one, which has worked before, just won't.
