I put my left index finger at the start of the text and then run my right index finger along that line stopping where I want to cut or copy that text and then select copy or cut from the rotor. It also works from top down and I do it the same way. Text will be selected in chunks according to the roter setting, e.g. if your roter is set to characters, you'll be selecting character by character, word by word or line by line.
