VNC don't work with Norton 360
Hi VNC Gurus, Can someone help here. I am using VNC (free ver) on WXP. Norton360 installed om my computer. I can't use VNC clinet to connet other computers (VNC servers). However after disabling firewall form Nortoan360, it works ok. I am not sure what need to be done in Nortoan360 to allow VNC work ok without disabling all norton? Any suggestion please? Thanks. Some questions
I have only been following the list about a month now but have not seen/can not find answers to the following questions. If they have been answered or are included in a FAQ I have not seen, please just point me in the right direction. 1) What is a mirror driver? How is it useful? 2) What is the relationship and difference between RealVNC and all the open source variants (Tight, Ultra, etc.)? I understand the variants have added options not available in RealVNC, but are they lacking something that RealVNC includes? Here is what I am trying to do with as little work (on the client end) and cost as possible. Be able to connect to my family and friends computers to help them with problems and questions. I have just been purchasing licenses for RealVNC and setting it up on their computer along with opening ports on their router. But if I try to do this for someone not within driving distance, this method will not work. It seems that setting up an EchoVNC server would eliminate the router configuration, but does that make it possible/easier for my non-techy friends to allow me to connect to their computer? Ad Thanks vance for any help or information! ___ VNC-List mailing list VNC-List@realvnc.com To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
www.GoToMyVNC.com and non-standard ports?
If I understand it correctly, this scans ports 5800-5809 & 5900-5909. Is that correct? If so, is there any way to get it to check non-standard ports? How if view PC behind router using NAT?
Hi, I have a headache and have yet figured out a solution. The situation is, I want to manage a number of workstation running Windows XP and using private IP address by NAT of router at a remote site, I think I should install a VNC Server on each of them. At the router, I should enable to the port e.g. 5900 for VNC traffic to go through and have it port forwarded to the PC I want. How if the workstation is using DHCP, so port forward is not stable and I can port forward to multiple PC. Moreover, I don't have rights to modify all the router setting, they're owned by providers. Is there a way the users at remote site to go out and let me see their PC? outbound traffic is definitely no problem at their site. See any of you have experience to share, thanks in advance.
