Re: unable to resolve host by name: (11001)
Hello, first thanks. The batch-file says: C:\Progs\RealVNC\vncviewer connect ip(it4s a static) -shared. The connection fits. I get the server. But there ist this 11001 . I cannot do anything to solve the problem? Can the provider do anything? Regards Steffen Steffen, You will not receive unable to resolve host by name after having entered a username/password, but beforehand. The error indicates that the viewer was unable to lookup the IP address corresponding to the specified hostname, and so was unable to connect. This normally suggests a DNS-configuration issue. The connection can be established. The prompt appears for filling in the password. But there is a notice unable to resolve host by name: (11001). What does this mean? Clicking it away with ok there is no problem further. VNC password can not be stored securely
When I try to enter a password I get the message: VNC Config: Warning Please note that your VNC password can not be stored securely on this system. Are you sure you wish to continue? Know somebody what I can do? Enter a paassword! Or registry, see vnc, set new dword AuthRequired, value 0.Then vnc will no farther remember to set a passwort. stroem ___ VNC-List mailing list VNC-List@realvnc.com To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
silent mode?
What exactly means silent mode? The TightVNC installer can work in silent mode and not ask questions during installation (but it's possible that it might show message boxes if there are any errors). In this mode TightVNC will be installed into the default directory, that is, the TightVNC subdirectory in the Program Files). Here is the command line to install TightVNC in silent mode: tightvnc-1.2.9-setup.exe /sp- /verysilent Cheers, Stroem ___ VNC-List mailing list VNC-List@realvnc.com To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
Re: VNC doesn't work through Linksys - my setup is correct i think
Hello, do I understand right? VNC doesn4t work through a proxy server? I have a similar problem. Enabling bypass proxy using LAN it marches. Instead, all HTTP/HTTPS/FTP, etc passes through an internal proxy server - they don't allow any internal machines to connect directly to the outside world at all. Could this be your problem? If so then there are some tools you can use to get things working through the web proxy. Larger resolutions will require more memory. what kind of memory is meant, the frame buffer of the graphic card or its RAM, or the RAM in general? vnc registry
Hello, sorry, last Friday I sent this question I would like to know, if there is a possibility to allow/disallow viewer to create new connections. Also I would be glad to hear, that there is a registry key to allow/disallow the server Disconnect All Clients. I ask mainly for v3.3.7 but also for v4 als well as TightVNC. I did not see an answer. Is nobody interested in this case? Did I ask something stupid? Something forbidden? I don4t want to do something wrong! I mean on the website vnc there are several tipps for tuning vnc within the registry. Sorry for my perfect english :) Thanks for interesting.
