I've installed VNC4 on solaris 8 lately. Basically,
you can start vncserver without any options. The
tricky part (which I don't really like the way it
works) is that you have to actually start a session
on your vncserver by "vncviewer -Shared
, and do your work inside that
viewer so that you can see your work from other
machines later. Then you can start another vncviewer
from other machine to view the same session you
started
on the server. So you are not seeing your desktop.
This is much like Terminal Service on Windows. That's
why I don't really like it, but it works.
