If self-oscillation is phonon-driven - and also forms the source gradient - then it's an effective 2LoT violation.
Doesn't rule out an EM / ZPE source of course, but Occam would suggest that's redundant.. So, unlike Steorn's ferro-electric caps or whatever it was they were doing (foggy now)..
