[vox-tech] run level question

2001-05-23 Thread Peter Jay Salzman

is there anything, in principle, to keep me from creating my own run level,
say, runlevel 7?

seems like all i need to do is add a line or two in /etc/inittab and create a
new rc.d directory.

anyone have an experience in this? seems pretty straight forward, but i'd
rather hear from someone's experience than do the experiment.

[vox-tech] Run Level Question

2001-02-17 Thread Robert G. Scofield

If one were using Linux as a workstation only, and the only network one
used was the internet, would there be any advantage in using run level
2 as the default run level instead of run level 3?
Thank you.
