Re: [Voyage-linux] lirc_serial on voyage
I have followed your instruction, but I got an error on "Save & Run" == configure: error: *** you need to have the Linux kernel source installed for this driver == I have installed Linux source on /usr/src. I think it is looking for Kernel headers, I was searching for kernel headers in mail archive, but nothing helps ( sym-linking /lib/modules etc.. etc.. ) Please help On Thu, Apr 16, 2009 at 1:19 AM, Juha Lindfors wrote: > > I've compiled LIRC on Voyage, although not the lirc_serial module (a > different one instead). > > In case it is helpful, the instructions are here: > http://www.openremote.org/display/orb/OpenRemote+Reference+Implementation+-+Software+Installation+Instructions#OpenRemoteReferenceImplementation-SoftwareInstallationInstructions-InstallLIRC > > For the CommandIR USB module, the process was pretty straight forward. > lirc_serial may have a different set of dependencies, etc though. > > -- Juha > > > > 2009/4/15 Navas Abubacker > >> I need lirc_serial module for my IR receiver >> Does any one know how to compile lirc in voyage, becuase the debian >> package doesnot come with the lirc_serial module >> >> -- >> Thanks >> Navas >> >> ___ >> Voyage-linux mailing list >> Voyage-linux@list.voyage.hk >> http://list.voyage.hk/mailman/listinfo/voyage-linux >> >> > > > -- > Juha Lindfors > OpenRemote -- http://www.openremote.org > > -- Thanks Navas ___ Voyage-linux mailing list Voyage-linux@list.voyage.hk http://list.voyage.hk/mailman/listinfo/voyage-linux
Re: [Voyage-linux] SSDs, CFs and write endurance
I've done some more research - it seems there is a difference in the physical medium. Do a search for "slc mlc flash", and you should see some docs that describe the difference. I am currently of the opinion that a current SLC CF card, assuming the onboard controller is capable of EEC and wear leveling, can be used for a read-write file system. For many applications, I think the cheaper MLC CF variety could even be used in such an environment, although they would be somewhat less reliable. Jordi Soucheiron wrote: I'm interested in this too. I've compiled LIRC on Voyage, although not the lirc_serial module (a different one instead). In case it is helpful, the instructions are here: http://www.openremote.org/display/orb/OpenRemote+Reference+Implementation+-+Software+Installation+Instructions#OpenRemoteReferenceImplementation-SoftwareInstallationInstructions-InstallLIRC For the CommandIR USB module, the process was pretty straight forward. lirc_serial may have a different set of dependencies, etc though. -- Juha 2009/4/15 Navas Abubacker > I need lirc_serial module for my IR receiver > Does any one know how to compile lirc in voyage, becuase the debian package > doesnot come with the lirc_serial module > > -- > Thanks > Navas > > ___ > Voyage-linux mailing list > Voyage-linux@list.voyage.hk > http://list.voyage.hk/mailman/listinfo/voyage-linux > > -- Juha Lindfors OpenRemote -- http://www.openremote.org ___ Voyage-linux mailing list Voyage-linux@list.voyage.hk http://list.voyage.hk/mailman/listinfo/voyage-linux
