I guess it is not easy because of the read only mode of voyage.

2015-01-21 Thread binary dreamer
hi, after a purge and reinstallation of apache2 the webserver appears to
start correctly. the problems arise when the system reboots. the apache
does not start and it gives me the following error
root@voyage:~# /etc/init.d/apache2 start
[] Starting web server: apache2apache2: Could not reliably determine
the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.0.1 for ServerName

the problem is that the folder /var/log/apache2/ does not exist!

Yes, it is possible. However, for a gateway (router) use case, I
would suggest take a look @ zeroshell and pfsense. Both come with a
web GUI interface to manage the appliance.

I am using zeroshell on an ALIX box to load balance + failover with two ISPs.

all i want to do is apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r) which it

on the contrary the version 0.8.0 works fine and i have no issue at all.

I do not know the just right answer, but explore this way. Read hints
written by your alix, try to understand them and then try to prepare
 expected environment.
You can use https://www.debian.org/distrib/packages to find what package
contains expected files. voyage is based on Debian so you can apply results
of search to voyage linux. Warning: apply do NOT mean copy.

only.
how do I have the kernel source and headers for version 3.10?
is there an image ready for this? I am running this in an ALIX.

Will it be possible to get in the image ready with the headers/sources? so
we could save days of compilation on our low powered ALIX boxes?

[Voyage-linux] upgrade issue with new kernel

2009-09-22 Thread binary dreamer
Hi. i managed to install voyage linux in an Alix 3d3 and it works nice.
i am trying to do an apt-get update upgrade i am getting an error:
You are attempting to install an initrd kernel image (version
2.6.26-486-voyage) This will not work unless you have configured your
boot loader to use initrd. (An initrd image is a kernel image that
expects to use an INITial Ram Disk to mount a minimal root file system
into RAM and use that for booting).

As a reminder, in order to configure LILO, you need to add an
'initrd=/initrd.img' to the image=/vmlinuz stanza of your /etc/lilo.conf

I repeat, You need to configure your boot loader -- please read your
bootloader documentation for details on how to add initrd images.

If you have already done so, and you wish to get rid of this message,
please put
 do_initrd = Yes
in /etc/kernel-img.conf. Note that this is optional, but if you do not,
you will continue to see this message whenever you install a kernel
image using initrd.

Do you want to abort now?

any ideas??
