It would be a simple matter of programming to add e.g. an interface output arc 
feature, in addition to the current L2 cross-connect / device-driver feature 
arc setup.

Show of hands: how many folks would find that useful?

I am trying to use the nsim plugin in my 3 machine setup (TG-DUT-TG). Is there 
any way to use it alongside l3+ plugins (e.g., classifier) ? It seems like it 
can only be done by bridging two interfaces at l2, bypassing l3+ processing.
