OK, my lack of knowledge of what unixbench is and not taking enough time 
to check it out before shooting the message off. (End of a long 
frustrating day of 'almost' completed mini-projects.)

I got that feeling but wasn't sure if the numbers reflected good or bad.

I lust!  Turns out the quad Xenon I am suppose to get is still a couple of
months away.  They're testing the replacement systems before completely
switching over.  (Typically a good idea especially when 'they' are running
Windows 2003 server.  :-)

Would it make any difference to the benchmark what the native file system
on the base system is?
It mounts the vserver as a virtual ext3 filesystem.
Would it make any difference whether the native file system was ext3 or
reiser?

linux-vserver doesn't use 'virtual' filesystems,
it's always the 'real' filesystem, regardless of
the fs type (ext2/ext3/reiser) which is used for
the vserver ...

it might make a difference if vserver and host
use different filesystems ...
