[Vserver] Apache Problem at Sunday morning
HI all, sry for double posting. In have a strange problem with apache2 : Each sunday morning between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. some apache's in different vservers shutdown and do not come back. I'm running debian etch on the vservers and debian sid on the hosts. The silliest thing is that each Sunday these were different vservers. I only get the following message in apache's error log: [Sun Mar 18 06:26:43 2007] [warn] child process 30762 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM [Sun Mar 18 06:26:43 2007] [warn] child process 30763 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM [Sun Mar 18 06:26:43 2007] [warn] child process 30764 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM [Sun Mar 18 06:26:43 2007] [warn] child process 30765 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM [Sun Mar 18 06:26:43 2007] [warn] child process 30767 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM [Sun Mar 18 06:26:43 2007] [warn] child process 367 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM [Sun Mar 18 06:26:43 2007] [warn] child process 21930 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM [Sun Mar 18 06:26:45 2007] [warn] child process 30762 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM [Sun Mar 18 06:26:45 2007] [warn] child process 30763 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM [Sun Mar 18 06:26:45 2007] [warn] child process 30764 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM [Sun Mar 18 06:26:45 2007] [warn] child process 30765 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM [Sun Mar 18 06:26:45 2007] [warn] child process 30767 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM [Sun Mar 18 06:26:45 2007] [warn] child process 367 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM [Sun Mar 18 06:26:45 2007] [warn] child process 21930 still did not exit, sending a SIGTERM [Sun Mar 18 06:26:47 2007] [notice] caught SIGTERM, shutting down Limit's weren't hit. Hi all, thanks you two, I think this is a very possible thing ;) I patched all the logrotate files. I'd say vserver unrelated. I bet each sunday morning between 5 and 7 your logrotation kicks in, and apache doesn't reload cleanly -- Debian unsolved bug for years; quickfix is a killall -9 apache2 then apache2ctl start in the logrotation script. A bug was filed on apache on the BTS (not by me) but I can't find it back. [Vserver] Ethernet interfaces vanished
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, I have problems with the virtual nics. Sometimes a interface in a vserver suddenly vanished and ifconfig in the vserver doesn't show anything. My interface setup contains in interfaces/0/ bcast dev ip mask also ip addr list list some of the ip's of the vservers as global and global secondary scopes: inet xxx/24 brd xxx scope global eth0 inet xxx/24 brd xxx scope global secondary eth0 inet xxx/24 brd xxx scope global secondary eth0 inet xxx/24 brd xxx scope global secondary eth0 xxx where real ip addresses. I'm running vserver-utils 212 and the following kernel: 2.6.18.5-vs2.1.1.3-amd64-squash-drbd-256ip-ipv6 Maybe this problem is known? On 2.6.20.1-vs2.2.0-amd64-squash-drbd-256ip the same things happens. best regards Oliver -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFF7QWXOBdlVlcPuhwRAqeqAKCP5gUa0mE6hdQ4MOSxmUKiKEcHHQCgwGny U1Z0rlzy2FXsWz7WyduvSWc= =03V0 -END PGP SIGNATURE- ___ Vserver mailing list Vserver@list.linux-vserver.org http://list.linux-vserver.org/mailman/listinfo/vserver

Hi Matt, thanks for your fast reply. According to mtab fstab and mount i'm sure that i have one partition inside the guest. regards Oliver Matt Anger (manger) schrieb: Are you sure /var is stored on hdv1? I know some distros (like the variant of RHEL I use) use a separate partition for the var directory that can sometimes get filled up with old log information and whatnot (this would also explain why sometimes a restart would help if progs cleaned up their old information). -Matt -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Cryptronic Sent: Monday, January 29, 2007 1:18 PM To: vserver@list.linux-vserver.org Subject: [Vserver] Strange problem with starting apache Hi all, i have running several guests on one host on all apache starts and works fine.
