[Vserver] vserver-build problem ?

2005-07-27 Thread Jean-Christophe Petit

Hello everyone,

kernel 2.6.12.3-vs2.0-rc8.1 and util-vserver-0.30.208

I have problem with vserver-build :

[EMAIL PROTECTED] /]# vserver min-centos4-2 build -m yum --hostname
domain.com --interface domain=eth0:192.168.0.136/24 --initstyle sysv
--context 600 --force -- -d centos4

any clue ?

A second question:
how do we delete a vserver-build ? Simply by deleting the files created ?

I found the problem
Oups, my /dev/ is now almost empty ?
But why did that happen ?

I rebooted, and everything back to normal

Re: [Vserver] vserver-build problem ?

2005-07-27 Thread Jean-Christophe Petit

By the way, is this warning problematic ?
*You are using a version of yum which is insecure and broken in chroot
related operations; either apply the patches shipped in the 'contrib/'
directory of util-vserver, or ask the author of yum to apply them
(preferred).

In the meantime, 'vyum' will continue with dirty hacks which might not
work when the vserver is running and local DOS attacks are possible.

[Vserver] vserver build problem: vserver-topdirectory

2005-05-19 Thread Alberto Cammozzo

Hello everyone,

I intend to use a dedicated filesystem for each vserver
(with lvm and drbd), but it seems that isn't what
vserver build expects:

# mkdir /var/lib/vservers/t1

# mount /dev/drbd0 /var/lib/vservers/t1

# vserver t1 build -m debootstrap -- -d sarge
vserver-topdirectory '/etc/vservers/.defaults/vdirbase/t1' and/or configuration
at '/etc/vservers/t1' exist already; please try to use '--force', or remove
them manually

# vserver t1 build --force -m debootstrap -- -d sarge
mv: cannot move `/etc/vservers/.defaults/vdirbase/t1' to
`/etc/vservers/.defaults/vdirbase/t1.~1116490694~': Device or resource busy

Is there some switch to avoid this? Am I missing something?
I am using vs1.9.5 with debian util-vserver 0.30.204-5.

Best regards and thank you for the great job!
Vservers changed my life :-)

Alberto

the tools do not cope with that yet, best way is to build
it either into a subdirectory, wait for a new release
(btw, I'm talking about 0.30.207 here ;) or try the highly
experimental svn releases ...

thanks for the flowers!
