Re: OSX review in today's West: You just have to laugh!
Another approach to your documented lamenting on perceived poor reporting on the Apple platform could be to provide the reporter with reports, articles, invitations to club meetings, honourary membership, product briefings, user reports and constructive feedback. My mother always taught me that if you can't say anything constructive, don't say anything at all. -- ()/)/)()..ASCII for Onno.. |? ..EBCDIC for Onno.. --- -. -. --- ..Morse for Onno.. Buggy Adobe software under classic?
... in any Adobe program under classic (well, InDesign, Photoshop Illustrator to be specific), holding down the shift key while selecting/transforming an object no longer resizes it proportionately ... makes me feel like in I'm in MS Word '98. Also: When you hold down the space bar to bring up a grabber hand (to move around your page), you have to 're-press' the spacebar to get the grabber function back (ie. release the space bar and then press it again) 'does a similar this when you try to use the select tool (by pressing the apple key) when you're in another tool. Am I suffering alone? Let me know if there's a fix. Tobes.
Re: 10.1 installed.
Ditto to that Steven. I've comitted to running 10.1 full time as well! Hi everyone, Just installed 10.1 in my machine.. Couldn't believe the improvements. It is so much better than 10.0.4. Everything ran smoothly, even Classic runs well. (Not as fast as rebooting back, but it feels almost as fast) I have my reservations when I heard about the improvements, but now I might run 10.1 full time now. :-) Only problem I have encountered is that it can't read my FireWire external HD. Don't know why. My system is Pismo 500, 512Mb.. Steven Got a Question? Power Mac 6200/75 Case
Perhaps I am just not very technically minded, but can anyone explain how to get the case open on this model? I am having a ridiculously hard time trying to get in to get the hard drive out to put in my other mac. Thinking of sawing it open! : ) Thanks, Erik
Re: Power Mac 6200/75 Case
being the proud owner of one of those i can tell you how. If you look under the faceplate at the front of the box, you'll see a couple of lugs. use a screwdriver or a strong pen to push them up while you pull the plate forward. It should now come off and reveal the floppy and cd drive and below the floppy a plate behind which you'll find your hard disk which you can unhook and slide out. have fun jon Jon Bjorn Jonsson, M.Ed.
