Re: architosh web site

2002-01-21 Thread Bob Howells
Yes !

Mac 7300/200 OS8.6 Netscape 4.74
Netscape is allocated about 25megs
and Netscape cache is 11 megs.

The front page of this site is super large in file size and takes quite a time
to load. It's not exactly a recommended introduction to a potential customer.
But it does have plenty of info.

No they shouldn't need to do that. Make sure they have at least 5.0.2
because it wasn't until then that the Sorenson 3 codec was in place. Other
than that, there shouldn't be any problems.

Well, I have never had any.

Some of them have, maybe they didn't follow the instructions! Presumably
they still need to go into browser preferences & make sure QT is chosen as

We had the same problem with VPC4 when we updated to OS 9.1. We had to
upgrade to VPC4.02 and the problem went away. I suspect you'll need to do
that, as it's a known conflict between VPC and OS 9.1

The references for alternate ISP's were only for ADSL (& at least 1/2 were
not for West Australia).

For *Cable*, is there an alternative ISP (Western Australia)?

I'm thinking of renegotiating all my phone lines for Tsunami, chefs,
manager, personal etc, but I don't want to get stuck with any increases
after I've finished.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with cable (I'm sure Peter H would agree) and
don't ever want to go back to dialup. Pity the 3Gb cap stops you doing neat
things like listen to internet radio with iTunes for long times. I use most
of the 3 Gb and constantly have to monitor it.

Do those PS's have the latest version of QuickTime installed? I am guessing
that this would be the problem.

Direct them to and tell them to
follow the instructions.

Once this is complete, they should be able to view the movies without any
problems.
