Re: Water cooling for your G5 laptop
Mind you, in terms of being quiet, the ibook is mostly silent, but if you use it for a long time, the fan does kick in, and is very rowdy. Perhaps its not very powerful, and so doesn't need a fan most of the time. Yes, the 15 gets pretty hot, especially the 'bar' at the back of the keyboard. Would this be a heat sink perhaps? I think they could have put slightly bigger feet under the machine to lift it a bit higher off the desk...would allow more air to circulate chris On Thursday, October 9, 2003, at 10:49 PM, Ryan Schotte wrote: On 2003-10-09 at 21:36(GMT+0800) John Currie at [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailed off into the ether: http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0,1282,60733,00.html Note that Apple cooperated with the research. Re: Water cooling for your G5 laptop
In looking for the USB coffee maker I only found this coffee warmer: http://www.dct-net.co.jp/special/usb_hot.html But I also ran across a USB toothbrush: http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/akiba/hotline/20030222/image/tooth1.jpg and electric blanket: http://www.mib.co.jp/products/ohizamoto.html maybe a coffee maker is just the next step... By the way, if anyone can confirm if any of these are actually real, please do, I can't read Japanese, or at least I think they're in Japanese. --- John Currie [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Note that Apple cooperated with the research. f*$king mail..grrrr
Hi All, I had the problem with my imap folders not showing up in the side panel, and according to apple help it is because of a bug which can only be resolved by setting up a bogus account...which is annoying enough as it is, however I am *also* getting a problem where every half a second or so whilst checking my email I am getting an Unable to connect There maybe a problem with the mail server or network. CHeck the settings for account blah or try again. The wierd thing is that it actually downloads the messages and I can read them, but I have to wait for Mail to finish rescanning my entire IMAP folder displaying that message about 1 billion times, before I can actually get to my mail. Any Ideas? Adam.

iCAL 1.5.1 (v616)
Have downloaded iCal 1.5.1 (v616) and installed on iBook (OS X 10.2.8 (6R73)). I drag on calendar to create a new event ... no problem. I select the event and then click on Show Info button in bottom right hand corner to set alarms etc, etc ... nothing happens. Anyone else seen this? R.K.

The info palette was replaced by a sliding drawer, and if the window takes up the whole screen, the drawer appears off-screen. Might be it. -Ry
