It's all working here. Although I have the Pro version of Versiontracker, so
I don't know if that makes a difference. It sounds like what you're getting
is all the binary code, or something similar. What you could try is either
click and hold the mouse on the download link then "save as file" or wait
until you have all the code on screen then "save as" from the file menu and
this sometimes saves as a file which you can then extract or unstuff.
So far we've found that the Marine Time Screensaver doesn't work fully in
10.3, but the Marine Aquarium does.

If you can't download either let me know and I can email them through to
you, or provide another link to download it from.

Hope that helps!

You're not alone Kelly,
I just downloaded the Marine Aquarium Screensaver (as someone suggest) from
Versiontracker. I got a screen full of garbled text during the download and
at the end NO FILE. Well I have no idea where it went certainly not to
my desktop like every other download.

PS: I am using OSX 10.1.5 on an iMac 266 (not even Panther - more like
Ocelot).

Thanks for your tips. Unfortunately they didn't work for me. After changing
boot-args to "romndrv=1", the second screen came alive, but it rendered
Panther unbootable. I managed to boot into console mode, and used nvram to
change things back again. Panther will now boot again, but the 2nd screen is
back to its former state of darkness.

I'm not sure of the exact model of the video card, but it is an ATI (1997).
One chip on it says "XCLAIM 3D PRO 42901", and another chip says "3D RAGE
PRO AGP2X". I don't know whether this means anything to anybody else on the
list, but it means bugger all to me!

Cheers,

Andrew

Seems a bit sporadic. Works with some fonts but not with others. Funny
thing is that Zapf Dingbats breaks, but Monotype Sorts works! Wonder if
it has something to do with their being enabled or disabled in Font
Book...

Bears further checking...

Herman Miller Chairs are stocked by:

I've been lusting after one of these chairs ever since sitting on one
in Myer Melbourne. You do know they start at AUD$800 and go all the way
up to $1,600 for the deluxe model, right?

They also have a new chair called the MIRRA chair:

Another chair to consider is the LEAP chair, which won an International
Design Award a few years ago. SOme people complain that the Aeron
chair's lumbar support is a little harsh. Take a look:

As you can see, I'm all prepared for when I win lotto 8-)

Andrew,

I used the command line command as described in the forum below. It DID
work on my second graphics card (PCI Voodoo3 card). Reboot required.

It forced the driver to be loaded from the graphics card itself.

Interestingly it does not work for an AGP card "upgrade" I purchased
from Apple last week (Geforce2 aimed to take advantage of Quartz
Extreme) so I am keeping the old ATI Rage card where it is until I find
a fix for my $200 "investment".

Could it be that Panther doesn't like the video card? Of course, the

may just have coincidently died on me, but it does seem suspicious.

I have another drive waiting for just that purpose. Considering the
last event (by no means the disaster that the Stuffit 8 experience was)
I will be setting up another drive and installing all the little extras
I need to experiment with. Fortunately, most of the extra stuff I might
have tried to reinstall is now superfluous - most of it is now in
Panther anyway. One big surprise was the fact that my Realtek Network
Card (the onboard Ethernet was fried in an electrical storm) was
automatically recognised by Panther - no extra drivers required.

Jaguar didn't do that...

Another nice thing...

All of a sudden my Canon S520 Printer Driver supports reverse page
ordering, and even/odd page printing. Now the only thing left is
on-screen ink level display, and it'll do everything it was doing in
MacOS 9. Ah, progress...
