Response Re Landgate web site

2003-11-24 Thread Bob Howells

Hey folks.
At least I got an informed response. See below :-

Bob

*

Good Afternoon,

Unfortunately the Macintosh Operating System does not support Map Viewer
presently.

The Image Web Server used in Map Viewer is propriety software from ER
Mapper (contact 9388-2900 or http://www.ermapper.com/) and is currently
only compatible with IBM PC's and Internet Explorer 5.0 and 5.5 browsers.
ER Mapper do intend to make their software compatible with all operating
systems/browsers.

The Image Web Server plug-in for MacOSX will require Mozilla 1.4 or
Netscape 7.1 and above. It is not possible to support I.E or Safari on the
Mac as neither of these browsers support scriptable plug-ins.

If you wish to test the plug-in (it still has a few bugs) as it is now you
can go to...
http://www.earthetc.com/rightwebmap/rightwebmap.htm

The Mac plug-in will be part of the Image Web Server 2.0 release.

The Version 2.0 of Image Web Server will be released by ER Mapper sometime
in the first quarter of next year.

Tv-hifi-dvd etc -itunes setup

2003-11-24 Thread Malcolm J McCallum

Dear All,
I am about to renew my TV as I think my Sony set has served its time
well at 23 years old. Yes it is colour (;-0) and the only thing that
has ever gone wrong is the on/off switch which need a 5 cent piece
jammed in to make it work.

I want an intergrated system that allows me to play itunes through the
set up and in the future will allow me to download 'movies' from the
internet and record programmes onto DVD and generally be a "thoroughly
modern Millie" I was thinking of going to look at Bose but is there any
system that specifically looks to the Mac! It seems a bit silly to do
all the research if someone else has thought of these problems. :-)

Mac.(about to come into a very small inheritance)

Re: Virtual PC 6: Re-assign Drive C: ?

2003-11-24 Thread Greg Pennefather
Doug

I only have VPC 5, but in that I can expand the size of the drive up to
2,048MB using the Virtual Disk Utility. I would imagine you can do the same
using v6. You must shutdown the virtual machine before doing this.

Good luck.

Mail preference settings for Ozmac account

2003-11-24 Thread Matt Falvey
Hi could someone let me know how to set the preferences in mail, my ISP
is Bigpond, to reactivate my ozmac account. I had to have my hard
drive replaced and this was one of the many things lost.

Description:?

Email address: ? ([EMAIL PROTECTED] ? )

Full name: ?

Incoming mail server: ?

User name: ?

Password?

Outgoing Mail server?

Also i have a second (family) e-mail address with bigpond but every
time I try and set it up I receive a duplicate of the same e-mail one
to each account even though it is only addressed to one any clues on
this one? I did set it up according to Telstra's vague instructions,
but I seemed to know more than them and that is saying something

Thanks

Matt Falvey

Virtula PC 6: Re-assign Drive C: ?

2003-11-24 Thread Douglas Sheerer

I'm using Virtual PC 6 under OSX 10.2.8. I have two drives configured:

Drive C: (with Windows 98 SE installed - total Size 520 mb))
Drive D: (with various software installed - Total size 5 gb)

I have run out of space on Drive C: as I
originally naively configured it to just 520 mb
in size.

Can I install Windows 98 SE on Drive D: and then
convert that drive to Drive C: ?
And if so do I do it from the booted Windows
environment or can I do it externally ?
I could then dispense with the old virtual Drive
C: and have as much extra space as I need.

Advice much appreciated. (I know that drives can
be configured to expand but I understand this is
only possible up to the original size limit fixed
on installation) I don't want to have to
re-install everything if possible.

cheers

Doug Sheerer

Re: EXCEL

2003-11-24 Thread Mark Scholmann
Tom,

you can make a simple Macro to copy a sheet, in a loop.
Here is a sample...

Sub CreateSheets()
'
' CreateSheets Macro

For sheetNum = 100 To 1 Step -1
Sheets("Sheet1").Select
Sheets("Sheet1").Copy After:=Sheets(1)
Sheets("Sheet1 (2)").Name = "New" & sheetNum
Next sheetNum

End Sub
-

Put the above code in as a macro (look for the Macro Editor to do this).

Make sure you have 1 sheet ready called "Sheet1".
Then run the macro and it copy that sheet 100 times.

The reverse loop is so that the new sheets come out ordered 1-100 (as
opposed to reversed).
The name of the new sheet is dictated by the "New" keyword. So change this
to whatever you like... it adds the number on after.

Good luck.

Mark Scholmann
