Do I have a problem or is this to be expected?

It all depends on the software you are installing. I don't think
there's any way to control or predict the time taken for Optimising to
take place. It is somewhat annoying, though, when an application takes
about 90 seconds to install and 15 minutes to optimise. Perhaps they'll
find a way to turn optimising into a background operation, so that it
leaves our computers at least somewhat useable while it's taking place
 :-/

MacMice BT for sale

2004-10-25 Thread Adam Yap

Hey guys,

I have a MacMice Bt for sale.

Here's a link:

http://www.macmice.com/themousebt.html

It's a bluetooth mouse that looks very similar to the Apple bluetooth
mouse, but has 3 mouse buttons and a scroll wheel. However it's too
close to an Apple bluetooth mouse for me, I've gotten used to huge
oversized Windows rodents.

Just bought this for $125, and it's in as-new condition (used about 3
times). I'd like to sell it for $115 and I'll deliver it.

Anyone interested?

Adam

Odd Pismo message

2004-10-25 Thread James I Fraser
Have you seen this on a Pismo, what does it mean, and, what can I do
about it please? I went to play a DVD having booted from OS 9.2.2 and
got this -

Apple DVD Player cannot open because the required hardware was not found
If you have another application open that uses sound or video, quit
that application and open Apple DVD Player again. If you are using a
Powerbook that requires a DVD-Video PC Card, make sure the PC card is
properly installed in the appropriate slot. (21)

Quit

I've changed drives without success.

Best wishes,

James
