Burning DVD's from iDVD Created Discs

2005-11-19 Thread John Carlson
At our school most of the students are burning their iMovie projects to DVD
using iDVD. Once this is complete they are required to remove their project
from the computer to free up space. Mostly we get the required number of
copies at the time of the original burning and this works fine.Recently we
have had the need to get more copies of some of the students' work but have
been unable to copy from the iDVD created discs other than using Image Copy
from Disk Utility, which allows playback only on computers.

You shouldn't have trouble using the disc utility. I used it myself
to make additional iDVD discs and they worked fine on my DVD player.

I am not with you here John ?
You can make as many DVD copies as you wish from the DMG file created
by dusk utility.

Each DVC created works fine on a DVDF player (not just on a computer).

Hi Tony,

I'm not sure I quite follow your description.

The only metal rod I can see is the U shaped one which is attached (clips
into) to the underside of the key the ends of this would appear to engage in
lugs on the floor of the keypad (ie the keyboard itself).

My problem appears to be in engaging the white scissors with the relevant
lugs on the keyboard. The bottom lugs (closest to the user) appear to engage
but the top ones (closest to the screen) do not. So on first fitting the key
it all works but is not properly held down (ie attached to the keyboard) the
bottom or rear of the key is held down OK but the top or front of the key is
free to lift - at which point the whole key can sort of move around so the
rear lugs can also disengage.

Can you explain just how your key pops off and how you reattach it. When it
pops off does the white scissor come off with the key or remain attached to
the keyboard. Similarly when refitting do you attach the key scissor
together or fit the scissor to the keyboard and thensnap on the key. I've
tried both approaches without success but it would help to know what is the
correct approach!

Thanks for your help.

Had problem with left hand shift key not depressing properly (switch
 is fine
problem was mechanical). I suspected shit under key but, whilst trying
 to
dislodge the problem, I dislodged the key itself. Now I'm having
 trouble
 trying to re-fit the key.

The switch still works and the dislodged key does not seem to have any
broken/damaged pieces. There is a two-part white plastic scissor
 mechanism
still attached to the base of the (removed) key and a |___| shaped
swivelling wire piece, also still attached to the key.

I can see where the key fits over the switch button but I am not sure
 how to
get the various mechanisms to engage the lugs on the keyboard.

Does anybody out there have experience with removing and re-fitting
 keys who
could point me in the right direction - ideally a link to a drawing
 showing
 how the key mechanism works!

 TIA
