iCal Online Editors

2006-12-07 Thread Chris Watt

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows of an ical file editor that will work
online with php.

Basically I want this (http://phpicalendar.net/phpicalendar/day.php)
but with teh ability to add and edit appointments.

If I can't do that, then does anyone know of a php calendaring program
that can track multiple people's calendars from a web interface? It
needs to have a way for me to access the appointments (either by
database or by rss feeds) so that I cna use segments in my
application.

Cheers

~Chris

New Diskwarrior

2006-12-07 Thread Rob Phillips

I notice that V4 of Diskwarrior is out, and it claims to run on Intel macs.

http://www.alsoft.com/DiskWarrior/requirements.html

Does anyone have any experience with this yet? Is it stable?

Cheers
Rob

Hi Rob (and all)

If it's anything like the previous version I think it will be quite good.
The suppliers in Australia (PICA) don't have them in as yet, but expect them
shortly. I've ordered some upgrades for myself and other clients, so hope to
have those in a week or so. (The upgrade is selling for RRP$89.95), so can
let you know more once it's in if you like.

Hope that helps a little.

Kind Regards
Daniel

Re: ARRGH - Dropped AlBook

2006-12-07 Thread Mark Secker
ouch but not the most ouch I've seen (like whole screen ripped off a
Toshiba that fell of a lecture theater podium)... I'd at least take
it in for inspection, They will charge a fee to take it apart to do a
proper inspection.

Though a new case surround might be more $$$ than you'd recoup in
improved sales value though.

my main PowerBook (I'm old school still use and prefer my TiBook)
actually had something puncture the screen lid a couple of years
back but fortunately did no damage to the screen or back light
(Whew!)

I found a dead and gutted TiBook in the Quokka (no battery, screen,
backlight, memory, hard disk or DVD just the dead mother board and
case) that was being advertised for a little over $100 ... so I'd
say look around you might get lucky

Fully functioning - crash-zone effect worked nicely and it didn't
even reboot.

Resale value has plummeted :-(

Most importantly - the power plug needs to be held in place to
overcome the frame warp shown above.

Any suggestions?
1) external pressure
2) take it apart myself
3) technician time?

stupid, stupid, stupid.

Recording Radio

2006-12-07 Thread Alex

Hi Wamuggians

On the way to the meeting I was surprised to here the Turning Blue hour
on the ABC. As it is on at a time that I normally don't listen to the
radio, I was wondering if it is possible to record radio shows similar
to how we can record TV with eyeTV?

Many thanks in advance.

Alex

Hi Alex

A product I've supplied for other clients (and have myself) which works very
well, and exactly what you want to do, is the Griffin radioSHARK.
It lets you listen to, record and program radio stations.
For more information on the product have a look here:-
http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/radioshark/
It retails for $129.95 here in Australia.
(Although I notice they have a new one just out, but knowing Griffin
products, we won't see it to next year. Griffin make some great products,
but sometimes actually getting them is a job in itself!)

Drop me an email if you want more info.

Hope that helps!

Kind Regards

Re: Recording Radio

2006-12-07 Thread Glenn Nicholas
For a software only solution, check out Audio Hijack from Rogue
Amoeba, it will record direct from ABC Radio to an mp3

The demo version will let you see what you can do, but you need to
buy it to use it for anything more than a test.
