Re: Update 10.5.2
Hi all I updated my G4 (Motorola chip) Leopard and whilst it took a long time to install and patch the update it seems to operate OK except that verify or repair permissions just hangs. The update of my wife's G4 Intel downloaded OK but the installation just hung with the blue line halfway for 4 hours. The machine locked up and had to be unplugged. It started up OK after a long wait and shows 10.5.1 still installed. Perhaps like many others I'm not game to try again. Re: Time Machine
Hi Severin As I said in my post about upgrading to 10.5.2 which killed my 2ghz G5, I did have a time machine back up but when I booted from the 10.5 DVD the back up was not seen!! Luckily I use superduper so was able to restore from that. So I suggested that who ever uses Time machine as the only means of recovery so do a test to make sure it was valid. regards roger On 13/02/2008, at 11:32 PM, Severin Crisp wrote: Does a Time Machine backup achieve the same as a bootable mirror when doing a reinstall with Leopard? Re: Update 10.5.2
Hi... All went well for me on two machines, except all my iCal calendars have vanished (and RADAR is giving me an error so I can't report the bug :) Have fun, Shay (Who thankfully SuperDupered the machine before installing). -- === Shay Telfer Perth, Western Australia Technomancer The love of liberty is the love Opinions for hire [POQ] of others; the love of power is http://newtonslore.com/fnord the love of ourselves - Hazlitt -- The WA Macintosh User Group Mailing List -- Archives - http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/archives.shtml Guidelines - http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/guidelines.shtml Unsubscribe - mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: CRM Systems
Chris Watt wrote: Hi All, I'm trying to find a good Application based CRM (not web based) that can handle the following: - Contact Management (and relationships if possible) - Project Management (even as simple as a Project name with To Do items attached to it) - Opportunity/Pipeline management (must be able to associate the various people with the opportunity) - Support Tracking (not necessary as a module if there is some way to track issues in a way that removes things from view as they are marked as a complete - maybe even a specialised To-Do will be fine. would be nice to track escalation though). - Ability to report and customise reports easily Does anyone know of anything that suits this well? Preferably for free! but anything will do, at this stage I am quit happy to get budget assigned from Germany for this. Cheers all! Slow Boot with VMWare
Hi Guys, I upgraded my laptop to Leopard and all was fine for a while. However, as soon as I installed 10.5.2, VMWare started doing weird things at boot time. I booted the computer and it took well over 5 minutes to log in (mostly hanging at the blue screen). I checked console.app and i seems to point to about 4 minutes of time where VMWare things are trying to load. I tried uninstalling VMWare using AppDelete, but the problem still goes on. Does anyone have any idea what VMWare is doing and how I can stop it from trying to do this at startup?? Off topic ABC doco
Perchance did anyone record an ABC doco screened this morning at 2.20am called 'Land of the Morning Star'? It is about Netherlands New Guinea from wartime to the Indonesian invasion and takeover and up to the present. I worked in PNG at the time. Any help would be most appreciated.
