Sharing VMWare Windows Engine between users

2008-11-15 Thread Reg Whitely

Hi All WAMUGgers

Where should I put my VMWare Fusion Windows Engine so it can be safely
accessed by multiple users?

At the moment it's in my documents folder but that's accessible only
to me.

If I put it in Applications, will that put its saved data and
documents at risk?

Should I put it in a Shared Folder?

Or, does VMWare have a special place for it? I've been searching their
tech support and FAQs and can't find the answer.

Hope you can help

Regards

Reg

The whole complex was mostly deserted, with mainly Westerners in the
Starbucks. Its in an area with lots of embassies, and relatively
quiet. Macs cost more than in Australia and Chinese salaries are
mostly much lower than here, only wealthy people would buy them I think.

I'm messing around with our brand new and very nice school MacBook

want to install Linux as a VMWare Fusion engine, just for fun ;-))

I've already got Windows XP2 Pro installed.

I know nothing about Linux.

What version would be best to install and trial for mere mug adults
and

school kids?

Hi Reg and Glenn

I also would Recommend Ubuntu.
Think you can download a ready configured VM from the VMWare Fusion
Website

I've searched and found this link. Hopefully it will download tonight.

iMac 24 For Sale

2008-11-15 Thread Alexia Langley
If you've been toying with the idea of getting a 24 iMac STILL under
warranty, then you're in luck! I'm selling my iMac which has been
upgraded and customized:

24 iMac - Intel with iSight Built In
400GB HD
Dual Layer Superdrive
4GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT with 256MB VRAM - arguably a better video card
than what comes in the standard 24 imac

OS X 10.5
iLife 08
2.16 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo
Airport Extreme Wireless
Apple Infrared Remote
*UNDER WARRANTY TIL NOV 2009* !!!

This is one of the WHITE model iMacs.

Take a look at Apple's website at the standard 24 model for a price
and spec comparison and you'll see that this is a great deal.

* Bigger hard drive
* Double RAM
* Better quality video card
* And you still get one year warranty

This computer has been VERY well cared for and is in excellent
condition.

Selling for $2000.00

If you're interested please contact me off list:

Hello all.
Is there a file hunter and deleter of left over files when an

2008-11-15 Thread Severin Crisp
Yes, I strongly recommend AppCleaner, find it on Version Tracker. It
is free too, but you need to use it to remove the application, not
just to tidy up afterwards, though it will do that if you can
recognise the bits and pieces.
