Lion Recovery Disk Assistant

2011-08-08 Thread cm
Hi Wamuggers and in particular those in the Mac service sector,

This article on AppleInsider tells of a new Lion Recovery Disk Assistant.

http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/11/08/08/apple_issues_lion_recovery_disk_assistant_for_external_drives.html

or here is the Apple knowledge base entry and download link.

http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1433

Using the utility, one can make a copy of the hidden Lion OS X 10.7 Recovery to
an external drive. To quote the Apple KB entry:

"The Lion Recovery Disk Assistant lets you create Lion Recovery on an external
drive that has all of the same capabilities as the built-in Lion Recovery:
reinstall Lion, repair the disk using Disk Utility, restore from a Time Machine
backup, or browse the web with Safari."

One note of interest is that if one makes copy of the recovery from a computer
on which Lion was install via a download from the App Store, then that external
Recovery can be used on any Mac, whereas if one makes the external Recovery
copy from a newly purchased Mac, then the Recovery can only be used with that
very same, newly purchased, computer.

Cheers,
Carlo

Imagine an election when you didn't have to line up, and the results be

I’ve been having “one of those days”, which has been going on for almost a week

CheckUp for Mac version 3.0.2 is optimized for OS X 10.7 Lion.

Now you have deleted any InputManagers your Mac should be more stable … unless
there is other underlying problems.

Re: input manager

2011-08-08 Thread Ronda Brown

Hi again Peter,

I seem to have misread your question.

You are not concerned with uninstalling CheckUp for Mac, you are concerned
about Input Managers.

Since Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, Apple no longer support Input Managers and
it's
no longer recommended to install applications using this technology. An
unstable computer
is often related to the use of InputManagers. These are located in this
directory:

Your HD / Library / InputManagers or your Home / Library / InputManagers

You should remove all items in this folder and restart your Mac.

Hope this answers your question.

Cheers,
Ronni

Hi Peter,

1. Delete the file named com.app4mac.CheckUpAgent

2. Delete the Application located in the Applications folder

3. Restart your computer.
