Re: Apple TV Network Connection Issue
Hi Ronda As usual you have hit the nail on the head and I have now learned something new. Setting the Time Capsule to Bridge Mode was all that was required. Thank you again. Wireless network served off the Time Capsule. DHCP is the setup. All worked fine with this new network until yesterday. All still works fine except the Apple TV won't now link to my iTunes library. It worked perfectly until yesterday. The only thing I can remember doing yesterday was turning the old Netgear wireless network on - connecting to that with my iMac (which runs the iTunes library), but then turning it back off again and switching my iMac back to the Time Capsule wireless network. If I switch the Apple TV and the iMac back to the Netgear network - AppleTV is back. If I turn that network off and switch back to the Time Capsule network - gone again. Interestingly, Airtunes (in iTunes on the iMac) will work through the Time Capsule network just fine (through the AppleTV), but even then the AppleTV does not appear in the devices list. I have had a look on the internet for this problem but can find no reference. Anyone have an idea? Help with a .FTW file
Dear WAMUG'ers, Is there someone who does have Family Tree Maker who could convert a genealogy file with the extension of .FTW into a .ged (Gedcom) for me please? Unfortunately I have Reunion and Heredis but so far I have been unable to find a utility capabale to convert the .FTW into a .ged so that I can import the file into my Reunion (or Heredis) database. A search in Google suggested using GRAMPS, however I could not get this application to open this file. Or possibly does anyone know of a utility capable of doing the conversion? Many thanks for any help I could get. Shifting iTunes library
Hi all, I keep my iTunes library on a 500GB external drive and just recently upgraded the drive to a 1TB portable external drive to give room for more photos, music, Podcasts etc. I was within 15GB of the 500GB capacity. I have migrated all of the content to the other drive but don't want to rebuild the library given that iTunes will need repathing to the music folder on the new drive. I haven't reset the new path in iTunes yet so will wait till there's some responses to this. Does anyone know how to do this simply? I am using a XP laptop (sorry not Mac) but employer has priority in this case. Any tips appreciated. I had already found the references you quoted and was trying in vain to follow them closely. For example, in Changing a Login's Password, everything went swimmingly until Point 4, Click to automatically fill your new password... deleted the 1P3 screen and the new password. Today I decided to scrap the idea of stronger passwords and just concentrate on getting the existing weak ones into 1P3. Even here the recommended procedures are misleading. If I 1, Visit a site, enter (my) credentials, and login the 1P3 ikon is gone from the menu bar and I have a screen full of the gory detail of my bank accounts. Nonetheless, I persevered with the 1P3 screen, clicking hither and yon, and now have the passwords of two bank accounts in 1P3 and will build on this tomorrow. Re: Help with a .FTW file
Hi Philippe, I have Reunion, so no help to you in converting the .FTW to Gedcom. Family Tree Maker is needed to convert FTW/FTM and FBC/FBK file formats to GEDCOM files. FTW = Family Tree Maker for Windows Any chance you can get the person who sent you the .FTW to convert it to Gedcom for you? 1. Open Family Tree Maker program and the desired file 2. Go to File 3. Go to Copy/Export Family File 4. Type in new file name (This is the file already open in your program. 5. Choose the location and name you desire for your converted program.) 6. Change Save as Type: to GEDCOM (*.GED) 7. Press Save 8. Leave default settings unless you know the exact program you are converting the program for. Normal default settings are: Destination: FTM GEDCOM: Version 4 Character Set: ANSI 8. Select Fields to Export (This is your opportunity to keep information out that you do not desire to share with others. Good information to remove is information concerning living relatives or personal submitter information.) 9. Flux receives very regular updates from its developers, and is becoming highly regarded in the development community, even though it doesn't seem to get the same publicity that other software gets. I would definitely take advantage of the discount. followed links on google in safari
hi all Has anyone had this happen? For no apparent reason, links I have followed on google in safari have stopped changing colour. You have no idea how useful this is until it stops happening! Doesn't happen in firefox, but I prefer safari. I've done some research, and I'm not unique, but the only solution seems to be writing a bunch of css code and mucking up the appearance of web pages at the same time. It can't be that complicated. I have reset safari cleared cache repaired permissions rebooted tried another account all to no avail suggestions most welcome as always kind regards Alastair powerbook 1.5ghz 1.5gb (yes, that one, Ronni - still limping along!) 10.4.11 safari 4.1.3 -- The WA Macintosh User Group Mailing List -- Archives - http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/archives.shtml Guidelines - http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/guidelines.shtml Settings Unsubscribe - http://lists.wamug.org.au/listinfo/wamug.org.au-wamug

One possibility is that Google has changed their code which controls this action to something more modern which your version of Safari does not support (but Firefox does). If this is the case the only thing that you can do, other than implementing your own CSS to override theirs, is to upgrade your version of Safari. We are running Safari 5.0.2 under Snow Leopard and the followed links on Google are coloured purple as expected.
