Re: MacBook Pro connection to projector

2013-05-28 Thread Ronda Brown
Hi Chris,

The "Thunderbolt" port is backwards compatible with Mini DisplayPort and,
likewise, supports an external display at 2560x1600 and passes an audio signal.

Do you know what connection the Projector has... Is it a VGA connector or HDMI?

"Use the Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter to connect your MacBook, MacBook Pro,
or MacBook Air to a standard analog monitor, projector, or LCD that uses a VGA
connector or cable."

TIP: FIRST attach the VGA end (or HDMI) to the projector, then the other end to
the Mac. This order helps the computer to detect the projector properly.

And, make sure your MacBook Pro is connected to Power. Don't use it on battery.

Rod gave you the US store link, this is the AU store link:

Cheers,

Ronni

 Hi Waymuggers
I have been asked at short notice to give a presentation on whales of
the SW this Saturday in Augusta for the beginning of the whale
watching season which is great.
However I have just checked my MBPro (8,2 i7 2.2 GHz) and see the
connector is different from my earlier models: Im assuming it is
Thunderbolt (shows up in the info screen with Ethernet and Firewire
800) as I have a connector to Hdmi I have used for the TV.
I would imagine that the projector provided would not have
Thunderbolt or HDMI. They have asked me to send a pic of my
connections so they can check.
Would I need to get an adapter cable to fit the old style projector
connection?
 Many thanks for any advice
 Kind regards
 Chris

MacBook Pro connection to projector

2013-05-28 Thread Chris Burton
Hi Waymuggers

I have been asked at short notice to give a presentation on whales of the SW
this Saturday in Augusta for the beginning of the whale watching season which
is great.

However I have just checked my MBPro (8,2 i7 2.2 GHz) and see the connector is
different from my earlier models: Im assuming it is Thunderbolt (shows up in
the info screen with Ethernet and Firewire 800) as I have a connector to Hdmi I
have used for the TV.

I would imagine that the projector provided would not have Thunderbolt or HDMI.
They have asked me to send a pic of my connections so they can check.

Would I need to get an adapter cable to fit the old style projector connection?

Many thanks for any advice

Kind regards

Chris

Re: IT support

2013-05-28 Thread Susan Hastings
Hi Stuart,

I had a look at this company's website which makes claims that are very
pompous and vague about what they actually do.

Ronni and Daniel run businesses that provide IT support. they are also kind
enough to help people out for free who subscribe to this list. You could always
go to them as a paying client. I certainly would.

Cheers, Susan

IT support

With Xcitelogic being placed into administration, the information I have is
that their support services have been dramatically cut.

Are their any other companies in Perth that provide similar support services?

Re: iTunes Password

2013-05-28 Thread Ronda Brown
Hi Paul,

Have you tried signing out of your Apple ID and then signing back in again.
Open iTunes
In the menu bar- Go to Store > Sign Out
Then Sign in again

See if that sorts the password problem out.

Cheers,
Ronni

iTunes Password

2013-05-28 Thread Paul Willemse
Hi All,

Strange one here. I tried to download a free app from the iTunes store and it
complained my password was wrong. I have been using this password for sometime
now, just under a year actually.

When I go through all the steps to change the password it will accept it, send
me the email for confirmation. I follow the link in the email but every time I
try to use the password it rejects it. Tried with several different passwords
but keep getting the same rejection. I use the password format as recommended.

Can anyone suggest something to try?

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Paul
