Re: InDesign won't launch in 10.9

2014-03-13 Thread Ronda Brown
Hi Daniel Blitto,

First Blitto, I would suggest you have a current backup.

Then as Daniel has suggested below, show your User Library and then do a
“manual” prefs replacement, which consists of finding and renaming the two
files which make up the preference set:
InDesign Defaults and InDesign SavedData. BOTH of these files should be
replaced at the same time. You can delete them, but renaming or moving them
will give you the opportunity to copy them back in the event that new prefs
doesn’t cure your issue. When you restart ID, the program will look for these
two files, and when they are not found, a new default set will be written.

Quit InDesign - Then find and rename the two files which make up the preference
set:
 'InDesign Defaults' and 'InDesign SavedData'

InDesign Defaults:
Macintosh: Hard Drive/Users/USER/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/Version
#/Language/
(Note: Prior to version 6 [CS4] the language folder is not used).

InDesign SavedData:
Macintosh: Hard Drive/Users/USER/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign/Version
#/Language/
(Note: Prior to version 6 [CS4] the language folder is not used).

In some earlier versions of ID, InDesign SavedData may also be found in the
first directory.

Restart (as mentioned by Daniel).

Cheers,
Ronni

[OFFTOPIC] Passing of Merv Bond

2014-03-13 Thread Daniel Kerr
Hi All

I just learnt last night of the passing of Merv Bond, a regular on the WAMUG
list, as he passed away unexpectedly last month.
So just thought I would let the list know for those who knew of him, as he also
did a lot of volunteer work for his local parish as well.

R.I.P Merv.

Kind regards

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for that, I have been testing both Steermouse and USBOverdrive. So
far Steermouse appears to do more of what I want, so I will stick with that
for the time being. The latest version is supposed to have fixed earlier
problems with Mavericks.
