Won't make any difference to the music you already own or accumulated over the
years.
Apple Music has a DRM component. It's similar to every other streaming service.
It does not overwrite the files on your Mac to make all your music DRM-laden.

You don't have to sign up for the Free three-month trial of the new music
streaming service.
As soon as you open the Music app in iOS 8.4, you’re invited to join the new
music streaming service, with a free three-month trial as an enticement. Don't
click START 3-MONTH FREE TRIAL if you don't want it.

If you do wish to try the new music streaming service for the 3-Month FREE
trial, but don't wish to continue after the 3-month trial -make sure you
disable Auto Renewal!

Turn Off Auto Renewal -- With the three-month free trial, Apple - by default,
the company will begin charging you automatically once your trial is over.

Here’s how you can prevent that in iOS.

1. Open the Music app and tap the head icon in the upper left.
2. Tap View Apple ID.
3. Enter your Apple ID password.
4. Under Subscriptions, tap Manage.
5. Tap Your Membership, which should show an Active status.
6. Disable Automatic Renewal.

Or in iTunes:

1. Choose Account View Account.
2. Under Settings, find Subscriptions, and click the corresponding Manage link.
3. Click Edit, to the right of Your Membership.
4. Under Automatic Renewal, select Off.
5. ClickDone.

And how do I stop updates from being automatically downloaded to my iPhone 6?

You can choose whether apps update manually or automatically:

1. Tap Settings iTunes App Store.

2. Under Automatic Downloads, enable or disable Updates.

3. If your device has a data plan, you probably want to turn off the Use
Cellular Data switch on this screen.
That way, when you buy apps or media on a different Apple device, those items
will download to this device only if is connected to a Wi-Fi network.

With automatic downloads enabled for Updates, there’s no need to check the
Updates screen in the App Store— iOS automatically downloads and in- stalls
updates to apps as they become available.
If you disable this option, you must update your apps manually.

Cheers,
Ronni

2015-07-06 Thread Alan Smith
I have the same concerns with downloading and installation.

Automatic Downloads for Updates (and music, apps and books) is switched off in
both iPhone and iPad, but both devices show that Software Update iOS 8.4 has
been “downloaded”, with the only option to “Install Now”.

As I don’t want to install the update (a lot of unwanted stuff to get the
possible benefit of “bug fixes”) I want to prevent the auto downloads!

Hi Michael,

Something is not set correctly...
Are you sure you have these settings set to OFF 'Gray' on all your iDevices?

1. Open Settings
2. Tap on iTunes App Store
3. Under the section titled 'Automatic Downloads' you'll see Items - Music,
Apps, Books, and Updates (I have all these items OFF - Gray)

4. Tap on each toggle switch you want to turn OFF so that it goes from Green to
Gray.

Also make sure you have the setting Use Cellular Data OFF (gray)
That is the settings I have and the iOS 8.4 is only showing as available to
download install in Settings General - Software Update

Will installing the latest iOS update from Apple (force fed to my iPhone
by Apple but not installed) mean that I cannot access the music I have
accumulated over the years in iTunes?

Won't make any difference to the music you already own or accumulated over
 the years.
Apple Music has a DRM component. It's similar to every other streaming
 service.
It does not overwrite the files on your Mac to make all your music
 DRM-laden.

You don't have to sign up for the Free three-month trial of the new music
 streaming service.
As soon as you open the Music app in iOS 8.4, you’re invited to join the
new music streaming service, with a free three-month trial as an
enticement. Don't click START 3-MONTH FREE TRIAL if you don't want it.

If you do wish to try the new music streaming service for the 3-Month FREE
trial, but don't wish to continue after the 3-month trial -make sure you
 disable Auto Renewal!

Turn Off Auto Renewal -- With the three-month free trial, Apple - by
default, the company will begin charging you automatically once your trial
 is over.

 2. Under Settings, find Subscriptions, and click the corresponding Manage
 link.
 3. Click Edit, to the right of Your Membership.
 4. Under Automatic Renewal, select Off.
 5. ClickDone.

And how do I stop updates from being automatically downloaded to my
 iPhone 6?

You can choose whether apps update manually or automatically:

 1. Tap Settings iTunes App Store.

 2. Under Automatic Downloads, enable or disable Updates.

 3. If your device has a data plan, you probably want to turn off the Use
Cellular Data switch on this screen.
That way, when you buy apps or media on a different Apple device, those
items will download to this device only if is connected to a Wi-Fi network.

With automatic downloads enabled for Updates, there’s no need to check the
Updates screen in the App Store— iOS automatically downloads and in-
stalls updates to apps as they become available.
If you disable this option, you must update your apps manually.

 Cheers,
 Ronni

G’day all WAMUGGERs

Well, my week got thrown all out of kilter but luckily my Calendar alarm went

using the tools on the Mac and how to manage them on the Mac. Also, have you

Well come and learn how to make presentations using it and, just as
importantly, how not to make them.
