I have the same concerns with downloading and installation. Automatic Downloads for Updates (and music, apps and books) is switched off in both iPhone and iPad, but both devices show that Software Update iOS 8.4 has been “downloaded”, with the only option to “Install Now”. As I don’t want to install the update (a lot of unwanted stuff to get the possible benefit of “bug fixes”) I want to prevent the auto downloads! Hi Michael, Something is not set correctly... Are you sure you have these settings set to OFF 'Gray' on all your iDevices? 1. Open Settings 2. Tap on iTunes App Store 3. Under the section titled 'Automatic Downloads' you'll see Items - Music, Apps, Books, and Updates (I have all these items OFF - Gray) 4. Tap on each toggle switch you want to turn OFF so that it goes from Green to Gray. Also make sure you have the setting Use Cellular Data OFF (gray) That is the settings I have and the iOS 8.4 is only showing as available to download install in Settings General - Software Update Cheers, Ronni Sent from Ronni's iPad4 On 7 Jul 2015, at 12:54 pm, Michael Hawkins michael.hawk...@mjhawkins.com.au wrote: Hi Ronni, The page you've directed me to says iOS 8.4 has been downloaded and there's a button to press to install it. WAMUG Meeting Reminder: Tomorrow, Tuesday 7 July 2015
G’day all WAMUGGERs Well, my week got thrown all out of kilter but luckily my Calendar alarm went off tonight reminding me that the July WAMUG monthly meeting is on tomorrow. This month we’re discussing passwords. How to make them generally on the Mac using the tools on the Mac and how to manage them on the Mac. Also, have you ever used Keynote? Well come and learn how to make presentations using it and, just as importantly, how not to make them.
