Re: Transition Duration in iMovie ?
Yep .. looks like it. Check auto transitions already and they are already unchecked. Just have to hang out till Apple fixes I guess ! I understood, to be able to add transitions manually in your movie, you must first turn OFF automatic transitions... Disable/Deselect 'automatic content'. https://support.apple.com/kb/PH14697?locale=en_US https://support.apple.com/kb/PH14697?locale=en_US But from what you have said it seems there is a problem in the latest version. Best of luck. There are some Apple forums complaining about it in the current version. My first clip is 10 seconds and the second one is 12 seconds. But iMovie will not allow me to change the 1 second transition default to 3 seconds. I tried stretching the handles just now but got the same issue. Must be a Glitch in this version …. what a pain coz I use it quite a lot ! On 4 Aug 2015, at 9:57 pm, Ronda Brown ro...@mac.com mailto:ro...@mac.com wrote: Hi Stephen, Are your clips long enough for the transition? iMovie has a simple rule: A Transition can only be as long as the shortest clips involved in this transition Transitions need 'beef'/handles from both clips; iMovie grabs half from each; the shorter clip defines max. -- It seems to happen when the clips are too short to overlap properly and imovie keeps the transition as short as possible. You can work around it though, as long as the clip is at least a few seconds long. Right-Click on the transition and choose Show Precision Editor. The transition opens up and you can see the overlap between the two clips, with the transition in between them. If you grab the left or right edge of the transition you should be able to stretch it out and increase the duration. You may need to give the transition more room by to repositioning the clips. This can be done by clicking and dragging the clips left or right. It seems that all transitions are now defaulted to 1 second. Each time I change the duration it simply defaults back to 1 second as soon as I hit ENTER. Apple forums do not seem to have a solution. Some feel it is a bug that Apple has not fixed yet. Any ideas please folks ? Hi Ronni, Thanks. That worked after a couple of tries! Though I had monumental problems with permissions on the backup files.
