Apple TV

2018-03-23 Thread Diana & Graham Stevens
I’m not sure this will get through as I haven’t paid because we are having
severe financial problems, so fingers crossed.

The ATV4 did not turn on, no light. I unplugged and waited a few minutes
replugged, it turned on and showed a screen which looked slightly different to
usual (but maybe normally I don’t see the top part). But I can’t do anything
from the remote except change the volume. This indicates it is not a problem
with the remote.

Also the screens on the Panasonic TV looked slightly different, some options
greyed out. So this morning I unplugged the power board which has all the TVs
etc connected waited and plugged in again. This fixed the Panasonic but the ATV
is the same.

Is there any way of doing a reset without being able to access settings?

Any suggestions gratefully accepted. Incidentally I greatly regret leaving
WAMUG after so long.

2018-03-23 Thread Michael Hawkins
Good morning and thank you Ronni,

I hadn’t realised that Extensions were listed under preferences in addition to
being displayed under the heading “Safari Extensions” which is immediately
above “Preferences” in the menu list.

Cheers,

Michael

Re: U Tube video

2018-03-23 Thread Ronda Brown
Hi Michael,

If you have ‘ClicktoFlash installed, it will be in Safari Extensions.
Go to Safari menu and choose Preferences - Then go to Extensions
you’ll see all of your currently-installed Safari extensions.

To delete them, simply select the particular extension you want to get rid of
and click Uninstall.

Cheers,
Ronni

I would like some assistance and guidance on the following

I created a video last year and posted this onto Utube and now find that
I am unable to open this and instead receive the message as follows

“ Your browser does not currently recognise any of the video formats
available. Click here to visit our frequently asked questions about HTML5
 video "

However I have downloaded Chrome and when I searched for this same video I
was able to watch it in full. It is about 24 minutes long but I cannot
 watch this using Safari

The video is simply a collection of photographs taken some 60 years ago
and was a useful reminder at our Reunions

I am using an IMac 27 and Sierra 10.12.6

 Any thoughts

Re: U Tube video

2018-03-23 Thread Michael Hawkins
Very frequently when I attempt to watch a video in Safari, I get the message
"Your browser does not currently recognise any of the video formats available.
Click here to visit our frequently asked questions about HTML5 video “.

I have searched for but have not found the “ClicktoFlash” extension. It does
not appear to be saved or installed anywhere on my computer.

Computer is running High Sierra version 10.13.3.

Safari is version 11.0.3…Any (and every) suggestion wil be gratefully received.

Cheers,

Michael Hawkins

Re: Macpro lion freeze - no restart

2018-03-23 Thread gary dorn
Further to my update
1 . a ram Board or chips are causing white blinking light on startup - how do
I get them tested?
Currently have only one ram board installed with 2x 512mb, 2 x 2gb chips
installed.

2. I've reinstalled lion to 10.7.5
Now Safari on my main user account won't open.

3. When screen saver is activated - the system states to restart

4 . One of my iCloud email accounts gd...@me.com won't connect.

Are these issues solvable?

Hi Graeme,

Reader View for Chrome allows you to peruse the content of a web page without
being distracted from ads, buttons and other web elements that you may not
consider necessary for the article you are reading.

Just click on extension icon in address bar to switch webpage into Reader mode.

Kind Regards.

Reader view

2018-03-23 Thread Graeme Winters
In recent times I have changed viewing my subscription to The Australian
Newspaper through Chrome rather than Safari and this now works fine every time
I access this site, however when using Safari I was able to make use of the
Reader Function to create a printer friendly copy of articles.

I am unable to find a similar Reader option using Chrome.

I would prefer to use this function in order to remove the advertising content
for printing.
Is it possible?
Would appreciate some help
