Re: Parental control app for iOS

Hi Peter
A tough one these days

We use
"regardless",
"nevertheless"
and
"you've already said that"

As our default app.

Probably not very helpful to what your asking - but very effective non the less
when used often and consistently as a response to children's arguing or oral
provocations.

Parental control app for iOS

2018-04-02 Thread Peter Crisp
Good morning, I have the kids with varying to nil degree of compliance with
verbal requests to limit screen use and also what type of communications are
appropriate. I'm after an app that allows scheduling of total screen time,
ability to limit specific app access time, bed time limits etc. I've got the
Ourpact app installed and it allows remote and immediate manual freezing of iOS
devices (good for instant response at times of belligerence) but as I'm using
the free version, the more sophisticated features are pay extras.

A colleague suggested Family Zone but this provides a replacement modem to
regulate traffic within the house but with a Time Capsule for backups that
won't work for me.

It would be good too to have some control over MBP activity but not critical.

Does anyone have suggestions of an app that does this with easy user inputs? I
could go for the Ourpact Premium at $10/month but it's not got MBP coverage.

Regards

Pete

Thanks Tony.

Distance certainly makes it a tad difficult. A lot of our members are from the
far flung parts of the State and I’m sure a lot would help out if they could.

Hopefully, you can get to a meeting or two during the year and we’ll look
forward to seeing you there if you can.

Pete Smith

WAMUG AGM & Monthly Meeting, Tuesday 3 April 2018

2018-04-02 Thread WAMUG Annoucement
G’day all WAMUGERS.

The WAMUG Annual General meeting is to be held tomorrow before the monthly
meeting. As previously notified, all the positions on the committee will become
vacant as they do every year and nominations were called for committee members.
Alas, there were no nominations received from the List other than from the
present committee members who are prepared to stand again. They are:

President - Maureen Smith.
Treasurer - Peter Botman.
Vice-President - no nomination.
Secretary - no nomination.
General committee members - Bernard Barnwell, Peter Hinchliffe, Daniel Kerr,
Peter Smith.

It was planned to send out an email on Sunday night to current financial
members with a link to a voting form to enable postal votes to be made.
However, as the number of nominations do not meet the required number of
committee members and, more importantly, there is only one nomination for each
of the President and Treasurer positions, all people who have nominated will be
elected unopposed at the AGM. No voting required, hence that is why you did not
receive an email.

The President’s and Treasurer’s reports will be presented but there are no
other planned items on the agenda. There will, however, be a general business
period for any last minute items that someone may want to raise.

The AGM will be followed by the monthly meeting. This month we will be looking
at the function of the ruler in word processing documents and understanding how
it actually works e.g. margins etc. The ruler is applicable to both Pages and
Word.

So grab your Macs, iPads and iPhones and come along. There’s plenty of helpful
conversations and tea, coffee and biscuits of course.
