Good morning dear WAMUG’ers, 

Can someone please recommend a ‘cheapish’ applications to allow me to edit a 
PDF file? As I need to edit pdf files very rarely I am trying not to have to go 
with Adobe which I suspect have all their applications on a subscription basis 
and would be fairly expensive. 

Ease of use and reliability is important in view of the urgency.

Haven’t followed all of this,…but have you tried an SMC reset, PRAM reset and 
SafeBoot?
Other thing to try would be create a new “test” account and log into that and 
see if it does the same thing. (though I’m guessing it will, as it sounds like 
more something at system level rather then user level, but worth a try to rule 
it out.)

Other thing to try would be to run EtreCheck and see if it reports anything 
there too.
