Re: Strange Battery notices on my iPhone 6S ?

Hi Barry,

/Quote
Battery Health (Beta)
For iPhone 6 and later, iOS 11.3 adds new features to show battery health and
recommend if a battery needs to be replaced. These can be found in Settings >
Battery > Battery Health (Beta).
Additionally, users can see if the performance management feature that
dynamically manages maximum performance to prevent unexpected shutdowns is on
and can choose to turn it off. This feature is enabled only after an unexpected
shutdown first occurs on a device with a battery that has diminished ability to
deliver maximum instantaneous power. This feature applies to iPhone 6, iPhone 6
Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 Plus.

 Hi folks.

For the past couple of weeks my 6S has developed a strange behaviour.

I always turn it off at bedtime and turn back on in the morning.
But now if I turn it off when the battery is at say 54%, when I turn it on
again it shows perhaps 9% and a red line.
Then after a couple of seconds it turns itself off.

If I turn it back on it will repeat this behaviour.
But if I then plug it in to charge it will show perhaps 53%.

Consequently I am now leaving it on at night to avoid this happening.
The trouble is now I have to charge it more often.

I can’t find anything on the internet re this.
 Would appreciate any ideas please?

 Regards,
 Stephen Chape

2018-06-24 Thread Barry Sexstone
I have never managed to get my iPhone 5S to show battery health. It is now
running ios 11.4 and will give me usage and standby times but not health. My
son’s iPhone 6 does give the health using the samr proceedure I have tried on y
5S so perhaps it it model dependant.
