Re: Photos

2018-11-22 Thread Ronni Brown
Hi Bill and Susan,

On my iPad iOS 12 in Photos I use a Photos extension App named ‘Quick’ to type
Titles or text on any Photo.

Quick lets you apply text overlays to any photo you'd like.
In other words — it's a meme generator. There's a decent amount of fonts to
choose from and you can change the color as well. If you want even more fonts,
you can pick up a 16 pack via in-app purchase.

Thanks Ronni
We were hoping to do this on a mac as we are making up a file to go on a
digital photo frame so that when a photo comes on the screen it will have a
name of the place, this a lot of photos we took during our long trip around
Aussie.

Re: Photos

2018-11-22 Thread Ronni Brown
Hi Bill & Susan,

Extensions are mini-applications from the Mac App Store that can run inside of
Photos. To edit with an extension, select an image, click the Edit button,
click the Extensions icon in the toolbar, and then choose an option from the
menu.

Apple offers one extension, Markup, for all users. If you’ve ever wanted to
draw on your photos in order to explain them, Markup will make you happy. Click
the App Store item to browse other available Photos extensions.

I have just done this below on a Photo in Photos version 3 on my Mac
I can’t send it to WAMUG mailing list as attachments are not welcome, I can
send it ‘Offlist’ to you if you wish to see it.

In Photos App on your Mac
Select Photo you wish to add text on - (I suggest you duplicate the photo &
work on duplicate)
Click the … Markup
Click Text - type your text & position the text where you want it on the photo
Click ‘Save Changes’ when you are happy with result.

Cheers,
Ronni

Hi Guy’s

The other option of course is to have a Photoshop type program and use layers.
I used to use Photoshop Elements (thanks to Ronnie) but now I use Affinity,
just a thought.

To secure erase files in the Trash, just:
Control-click on the Trash icon in your Dock, at the bottom of your screen.
Press the Cmd button.
Click "Secure Empty Trash."
And again, select "Secure Empty Trash."

Hi Walter,

No the ‘Quick’ extension is only for iOS.
In iPhoto there isn’t Markup, but you could export a photo to the Desktop and
open it in Preview and use it’s Markup toolbar to add text to the photo as I
mentioned below.

We were hoping to do this on a mac as we are making up a file to go on a
digital photo frame so that when a photo comes on the screen it will have
a name of the place, this a lot of photos we took during our long trip
 around Aussie.

 Hi Bill and Susan,

On my iPad iOS 12 in Photos I use a Photos extension App named ‘Quick’ to
type Titles or text on any Photo.

Quick lets you apply text overlays to any photo you'd like.
In other words — it's a meme generator. There's a decent amount of fonts
to choose from and you can change the color as well. If you want even more
fonts, you can pick up a 16 pack via in-app purchase.

Photos

2018-11-22 Thread Juliet Kitson
Hello Again
Well we have got our pictures into photos but when we try to burn them to a
disc with toast titanium we grab a photo and move it into the burn area and
it changes to UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_THUMB 164a.jpg. Very confusing.

Hi Bill,

Is this how you have setup Toast Titanium for Photo Disc?
To make a Photo disc:

• 1 From the main Toast window, click Data.

• 2 Choose Photo Disc from the format selection menu.

• 3 Click the Options button, if necessary, to choose any optional
disc settings.

• 4 Add pictures to the disc by dragging and dropping them into the
Content Area from your hard disk
or the Photos section of the Media Browser.

• 5 Insert a blank, recordable CD, DVD or Blu-ray disc.

Cheers,
Ronni
