Re: [WAMUG] Decision time: MacBook Pro battery

2022-09-29 Thread Daniel Kerr via WAMUG
Yes I think that’s probably one of the most common reasons to have to run it on
a new M-series - MYOB in Parallels. :)
At least it works under Windows 11 Preview and Parallels. (Parallels definitely
does it better than VMWare I’ve found from experience when doing either for
clients).
What’s even worse though is MYOB trying to get some things working in MYOB
AccountRight for Windows. - it doesn’t do things that they had as a staple for
MYOB AccountEdge for Mac!
If only they’d spend a little of their millions and make a 64bit version for
Mac - they would have a huge happy client base,…lol.
But I digress,….I won’t get started on that. lol

I mean, it’s not like they didn’t have time to know it was going from 32bit to
64bit - what was it,..about 12-13 years when the first Mac OS 32/64bit came
along in Snow Leopard? (Panther had simple support for 64bit but not the main
OS I think it was). I guess that’s not much time for them,…lol. :)

Kind regards
Daniel

Although I cannot participate in the meeting, I would like to know the best way
to save all my current emails- just in case-then delete them (thousands)
entirely from the severs. We have both gmail and apple mail accounts
Should you discuss that I’ll be keen to read the outcome.
Kind regards

I have a client running MYOB under Windows 11 on an M1 iMac - because Account
Edge is STILL just 32bit software, and therefore simply can’t run on the new
Macs.

I got her going with Parallels Desktop, but is necessary to install the
developer edition of Windows 11 in order to work on the M1 chip, so I expect it
would be the same for the M2. Been working well for over 12 months though...
