Re: [WAMUG] Repurposing computer?

2022-08-15 Thread Rosemary Spark via WAMUG
   Hi all,

   Thanks to Kevin

After formatting I handed my husband’s old MacBook Pro over to Kevin
who will magic it into new life! Hooray! Someone will be able tu have
a computer who would otherwise do without.

Ruari Jack’s 2013 computer will live again.

The computer was half full when checked but said it was out of memory.
And wouldn’t even empty its recycle bin.

Être Check said hard drive failing…and that it was obsolete! Even
another re-format wasn’t going to fix it! Time for a new computer!

Now he is the proud owner of a new MacBook Air, it arrived for days
   early!

Once again, thanks to WAMUG and it’s experts!

   Cheers

Rosemary,

I am the guy who has restored lots of Macs and given them away to needy people

[WAMUG] Repurposing computer?

2022-08-14 Thread Rosemary Spark via WAMUG
   Hi there,

There used to be an organisation re-purposing computers. Do they still
exist? My husband’s old 9 years MacBook Pro has been replaced because
the hard drive has failed. Someone with the skills could replace that.
Does anyone know whether the organisation still exists? And how to
   contact them?

   Thanks
