Hi All:

Just thought I would share a recent experience which would be beneficial to
others.

After updating to 10.2.3, I found that iTunes 3.0.1 would no longer
recognise my iPod--and I therefore could no longer sync music. The iPod was
showing up on my desktop, so I knew it wasn't a firewire problem. I tried
many things to no avail. I then rang apple support and they helped me
through it. 

The issue: 10.2.3 comes with new iPod software which must be installed on
your iPod for it to sync. If you have the same problem as me, the issue is
that iTunes needs to prompt you to install the new software onto your iPod.

The cure: (as it worked for me)
- Make sure you have all software updates
- Disconnect your iPod
- Reset your iPod by pressing the "play" and "menu" buttons simultaneously
until you see the apple logo in the screen
- Restart your computer
- Open iTunes
- Connect your iPod

You should now be prompted to install the new iPod software, do so and it
should work fine.
