An appeal to Allavsoft users of wamug - - - Are software updates normally installed automatically after downloading?
I had to install a recent software update (to vers 3.17.4) manually. This is my story. The small update window displayed an “update now” button with the message “Please wait for the updates”. Download appeared to be normal with a progress bar. On completion the update window changed to “cancel” while still showing “Please wait for the updates”. I waited. I eventually selected the “cancel” button. Software did not update. Allavsoft support (normally very quick to respond) did not reply to my email. I speculate it was put in the “silly question” bin. I eventually found a file allavsoft-mac.dmg in the ~/Application Support/Allavsoft/ folder with the same date and time as my latest re-try of downloading. I double clicked the dmg file then followed the usual steps and the app update installed successfully. I intend to delete the dmg file as it seems very peculiar to store it in the ~/Application Support/ area. Was mine a normal experience?
