Setting the Time Capsule to Bridge Mode was all that was required.

Hi Adam,

This will be my last email to WAMUG until probably Tues. as my stepdaughter & 
her partner have arrived from Melb & staying with me for a couple of days.

I found this when searching through my notes so thought I would pass it on to 
you.

I presume you set up your Time Capsule wireless network as Dual-Band Wi-Fi 
Network.

2nd-Generation Apple TV and Wi-Fi:

The Apple TV has 802.11n built-in and can use the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, just 
like any 802.11n Mac. It has just 10/100 Mbps Ethernet, not Gigabit Ethernet.

When connecting to a simultaneous dual-band base station, the Apple TV should 
automatically choose the 5 GHz network, which offers the best throughput.

The Apple TV connects to a network in a straightforward way:
I won't bother giving you the Ethernet setup as you are wanting wireless.

Wi-Fi: Connect your Apple TV to your TV, power up both devices, grab your Apple 
Remote or iOS device with the Remote app installed, and follow these steps:

1. On the TV, from the Apple TV main menu, choose Settings > General > Network.

2. Select Configure Wi-Fi  to view the Wi-Fi Network screen.

3. Select your network, or if you have a Closed Network, choose Other and enter 
a network name.

4. If your network has an encryption key or passphrase, use the Apple Remote or 
Remote app for iOS to enter it on the Wi-Fi Password screen. (Each character is 
displayed on the TV screen for a moment after you type or tap it.)

5. If your network uses static addresses or has other particular requirements, 
choose Configure TCP/IP from the Network screen to enter an IP address, set DNS 
servers, or other details.

The Apple TV is now configured to work on the network. It will appear as a 
destination from any iOS device running iOS 4.2 or later, and from iTunes under 
Mac OS X and Windows.

Just a quick reply. Did you restart the Netgear Router after making the changes 
(turning the wireless off) also might have needed to restart the Time Capsule 
as well.

And you do have Time Capsule Network in 'Bridge Mode'?

I recently set up a Time Capsule and turned the Netgear wireless router modem 
into just a modem (I turned the wireless off).  Wireless network served off the 
Time Capsule.

DHCP is the setup.

All worked fine with this new network until yesterday.  All still works fine 
except the Apple TV won't now link to my iTunes library.  It worked perfectly 
until yesterday.  The only thing I can remember doing yesterday was turning the 
old Netgear wireless network on - connecting to that with my iMac (which runs 
the iTunes library), but then turning it back off again and switching my iMac 
back to the Time Capsule wireless network.

If I switch the Apple TV and the iMac back to the Netgear network - AppleTV is 
back.  If I turn that network off and switch back to the Time Capsule network - 
gone again.  

Interestingly, Airtunes (in iTunes on the iMac) will work through the Time 
Capsule network just fine (through the AppleTV), but even then the AppleTV does 
not appear in the devices list.

I have had a look on the internet for this problem but can find no reference.

Anyone have an idea?

My setup:

iMac 3.06gHz
MacOS 10.7.2
iTunes 10.5.2
