Re: Batch changes in Photos ?

Thank you Ronni,
I have been holding off upgrading whilst I watch for comments and opinions.
But this news may push me to upgrade quicker.
I imported about 40 images into Photos yesterday and had to enter the same
title into about 30 of them one at a time. Very frustrating as I use the titles
for Smart Folder references.

Hi Stephen,

The biggest addition is editing of image data, individually and in batches. In
Photos version 1.1, you can add location information to either a single photo
or an entire batch, and batch-change titles and other information.

To do this, you open the Inspector window.
A not-yet-geotagged image will offer a section of the window labeled Assign a
Location.
Clicking in this area will let you enter a street address or a name of a point
of interest, and Photos will search Apple’s Maps database.
You can also just click on the pin and drag it around the map, placing it
wherever you like.

To batch-change titles, descriptions, or keywords, just select a bunch of
images and input the new information into the Inspector window.

Cheers,
Ronni

1.7GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost to 3.3GHz
8GB 1600MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM
512GB PCIe-based Flash Storage

OS X Yosemite 10.10.2

Batch changes in Photos ?

2015-10-05 Thread Stephen Chape
Hi folks,
I have not upgraded to El Capitan yet.

Has anyone that has upgraded noticed if the above has been returned ?
It is in Photos Help but not listed where indicated in the pull down menus.
I had heard that would be corrected in Photos with the release of El Capitan.

PS: Strange that Mail Spell Checker does not recognise “Capitan” ?
Or am I spelling it incorrectly?

Regards,
Stephen Chape
