prob. is with using a PPC Mac.

Contact me if you still need to use Flash.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the info/link. At the present though, I use Firefox as my main
browser (along with FlashBlock to only allow flash when I want it) - so I
guess I'll put up with the constant stream of Flash plug-in updates.

OK, thanks for the explanation Ronni.

Yes, I do use Flash-block with Firefox (along with Adblock Plus and

Disable Adobe Flash / Use a Flash Block Plugin
Many sites use Flash for video and games, so instead of uninstalling Flash
completely use a Flash block plugin for your web browser. This causes all Flash
to be disabled by default until you click to allow individual plugins and
instances of the Flash plugin to run, preventing unauthorized Flash from
running in a web browser completely.

These plugins are free and available for every major browser:

ClickToFlash for Safari
FlashBlock for Chrome
FlashBlock for Firefox

Hi Ronni,

I do have the Adobe Flash plug-in and have no problem viewing YouTube but
I do get annoyed at the constant stream of updates required so I¹m
interested as to whether it is the only way to view YouTube.

So I¹m a bit confused where on the one hand you say:

But then you say:

So how are you watching YouTube without the Adobe plug-in?

Hi Michael,

You require Adobe Flash plug-in to view YouTube videos.
Adobe Flash Player updates available for OS X on October 24, 2014

If the version of Adobe Flash plug-in you are using is out of date, you may see
the message, "Blocked plug-in", "Flash Security Alert” or "Flash out-of-date"
when attempting to view Flash content in Safari.

Cheers,
Ronni

Re: Can You Tube be viewed without Adobe

2014-10-28 Thread Ronni Brown
Hi Michael,

It's a beautiful video and most beautiful song. You should not require Adobe
plug-in to view a YouTube video.
I don't have Adobe plug-in installed and I can view the Glen Campbell video
perfectly.
Is this the link you are using?

Can You Tube be viewed without Adobe

2014-10-28 Thread Michael Hawkins
I have removed all Adobe software from my MacBook Pro, but now find that I
cannot watch Glenn Campbell's "I'm Not Going To Miss You" on You Tube without
installing an Adobe plug-in. It's a song dedicated to his wife in which he
acknowledges that because he is developing dementia, he will not remember her.

Is there a way around this? I feel I should remember

Thank you,

Michael Hawkins
