Re: Epson ink cartridges

2006-06-26 Thread Nicholas Harvey

H there,

Try the forum http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/laser/26282 for
the C82 but the site http://www.fixyourownprinter.com has lots of
information and I believe service manuals. My experience with the C82
is I managed to fix one and one recommendation was to use a
particular type of ink that did not contain the durabright that the
epson cartridges contain. I have also destroyed the print heads in
one C82 using the techniques outlined so as one says the usual
disclaimers go.

There is a guy in Perth (Canning Vale) selling large ink reservoirs
for a variety of inkjet printers. Cannot remember the name of the
company but could do just about any printer.

I too have gone laser. Saumsung C555 with 3 yr warranty - has xerox
engine in it. Under A$600.

Re: Epson ink cartridges

2006-06-24 Thread J Philippe Chaperon
Hi John, Kevin & Robert & WAMUG'ers,

Many thanks for the comments and suggestions. I am reading through Robert's
notes with regards to cleaning the nozzles, and failing this I will see if
the firm in Mt Hawthorn can help.

Must say that whilst it worked, the CX5300 was fantastic. I am currently
using it to digitize my old photos - have done hundreds so far.

If for some reason the printer cannot be fixed cheaply, either by myself or
the Mt Hawthorn firm, then I'll use it only as a scanner albeit a big one!!
Might impress those who do not know anything about such devices!!

With regard to the HP 14XX series, well Kevin, my wife was only just asking
me to get her a printer ... Just wished I had read your email before
going shopping this afternoon. I will look at it and make her happy during
the week.

Thanks again guys. I do appreciate the rapid response and your ideas.

Kind regards to all,

Philippe

Current pricing on HP 14XX series Scanner Printer Copier is $69 with
a $20 cash-back$49 for a pretty reasonable combo. I have a
couple and am well pleased with them.

The people that I do voluntary work for recently had a similar
problem with an Epson printer - C65 or C85 - not sure which.

We took it to a firm called Critical Link in Mount Hawthorn.
Apparently these printers have a "priming pump" which had ceased to
work.

The cost of the pump was just over $26 plus labour $60. And they
gave us the broken bit back.

Critical Link pecialise in Epson and seem to be very busy - but it
may be worth a try.

Epson ink cartridges

2003-11-23 Thread Tony Cockbain
I find I have foolishly bought TO322 (Cyan) and TO323 (magenta) ink
cartridges instead of TO422 and TO423. The magenta cartridge has been
opened, but the other one is still in its packet. If anyone wants them
let me know before I bin them.
