Extending Wireless signal strength ...

2006-09-04 Thread Tobes

Hi all, 'got a question for the group.

I've just bought my first house, and I've set up my all my gear. I'm
getting pretty poor reception with my wireless network between my
study and living room. My study has iiNet's Belkin Wireless modem/
router ... my living room has an Xbox 360 with wireless adaptor.

I'd like to improve the reception ... I've got a D-Link DWL-G810
wireless bridge that I used to use for a spare 333mhz iMac ... can I
use the G810 as a wireless repeater? I've had a look at the manual
and can't find any mention of the functionality, but I was thinking
it might just be an inherent feature in most wireless products ...
yeah, I'm a wireless newbie. Apologies : }

Can anyone help out, or suggest an alternative low cost solution that
doesn't involve laying down ethernet cable or drastically re-
arranging my house? ; )

Cheers,
Tobes.

Yep... These suckers.

They work absolutely beautifully. Great for hooking up a couple of
access points.
