Re: LaserWriter Select 360
Hi Kurt, I checked out someone in Perth on ebay and have ended up buying 3 brand new toners for $20 each. I will pick them up from Lathlain on Friday. How neat is that !! The one I put in for refilling today will cost me $130, so I will contact them tomorrow to try and cancel it. Thanks again, did not think of looking on ebay. Re: LaserWriter Select 360
Hi Rick Are you offering a 8500 ? Would I still not have the problem on purchasing a toner cartridge. My understanding is that Apple does not sell these any more ? Re: LaserWriter Select 360
Yes, it has half the toner in it, I have seen them on ebay, but still around $250 each but last quite along time. (the only problem is that the Apple LaserWriter 8500 is a very large printer because it has separate trays for the A4 and A3+ paper. LaserWriter Select 300
I have, surplus to our needs, a LaserWriter Select 300 which is functional. However, the the auto feed from the tray only works with quality paper. The manual feed is fine. If anyone wants to cannibalise parts from it or use it in its present state they are welcome to call by and pick it up. LaserWriter Select 360
I am trying to find a driver for this machine without success. The Mac I am attaching it to is running 8.6. Can it run on other drivers such as the LaserWriter 310? TIA Kev
Re: LaserWriter Select 360
Hi Kevin, The Select 360 is a localtalk printer, so will work through the Laserwriter8 driver in the Chooser. Your Appletalk settinsg will have to be turned on, and pointing to the right port on your Mac. Seeya Rod! Re: LaserWriter Select 360
Since we are on the topic of older Apple Laserwriters... Does anyone know what causes printed lines down the pages. I have an 8500 I scored for $5 but all printouts have two lines straight down the page. I though it may have been dirty rollers but they seem clean and roll the paper in the opposite direction to the lines. I'm loving the use of it in OS X over ethernet. So fast!! I wouldn't have thought drivers would have been preserved into the OS. LaserWriter Select
I have a LaserWriter Select that now has all 3 indicator lamps illuminated accompanied by a pungent burning odor. Does anyone out there know if there are affordable parts still available for it? Alternatively, does anyone need a near new Cartridge? Adrian Skehan
Re: LaserWriter Select
I've found the cheapest way to fix something like this is to buy a similar printer at a computer auction, especially cheap if it has something else wrong with it, and salvage the parts. A $5 bargain may have $100's worth of parts at list price. Not sure about current auctions but the laserwriters used to come up often enough to make it worth hanging on to your printer. Hi All! Just wondering if anyone has a toner laying around for a Select 360 Laserwriter that they are willing to sell/trade. Seeya Rod!
LaserWriter Select 300
Thanks Raymond for the Select 360 driver. My problem is that I need the set of disks for the LaserWriter Select 300 to obtain the SharePrinter extension for the LW300. LaserWriter Select 300
Great joy! I returned to the Apple site for old downloads and found Print Share 1.1.2. Put that into the Extensions folder of 9.2 on the iMac and bingo! I could print from my iMac on my LaserWriter Select through my old Performa. Problem resolved. Merv At 1:36 PM +0800 11/11/02, Mervyn Giuliana Bond wrote: Thanks Raymond for the Select 360 driver. I seem to have mislaid my disks for the LaserWriter Select 300 driver. Has anyone a set I could borrow, please. Checked the Apple site for old downloads and got a document that was an extension only. Help greatly appreciated. Merv -- Science teaches that we must see in order to believe, but we must also believe in order to see.
