(with this midi interface you can connect virtally any keyboard that
has the standard midi in out (5 way din plugs), there are now

Dear WAMUGgers

I'm looking at buying a midi/USB keyboard to use with Garageband at
school, on an eMac or G4 iBook with plenty of RAM (~768). Any
suggestions for a good quality beginner instrument? One I've looked
at is the the Edirol PCR-30. Any advice for a total music mug is
welcomed.

Also, who is a good supplier of this sort of equipment, preferrably
closer to Augusta WA than somewhere in the central desert?

Reg,

I have purchased the EDIROL PCR-80 which is the big brother of the PCR-30,
and I'm really happy with it. The keys have a good feel, and the unit has a
quality finish. Mind you, I've come nowhere near using its full
capabilities.
