Hmmm, speaking as a Oz consumer, it looks to me like a case of less for more. The optional stand seems a bit of a swizz. Maybe future Mac models will come with an optional power cord too. So, I reckon it appears expensive, but probably is intended to appeal to the cashed up foreign student.
